Really fantastic to hear from such enthuiastic fans of the genre For me its definately all about the outfit and the music and the dancing / teasing. In fact I think I could watch a girl strut around the stage in classic gown 'n' glove garb to Sonny Lester's "Bumps and Grinds" all night and it wouldn't matter if she didn't take a stitch off!
I think I mentioned already that I can and do *ahem* "use" stripper music alone, if you get my drift, but looking at picture series of suitably dressed girls at the same time is my fave thing to do. I've also been known to edit "modern" strips to old style music although this is too time consuming to do as much as I'd like and I don't have any of my old efforts anymore. I'm so into the music side of things that in fact I'd be very happy to see a girl dressed in a very contemporay sexy outfit (such as you might find in everyday modern porn) as long as she was strutting her stuff to traditional style music. I must say I'm less into the "belly dance" and "native" kind or routines such as you often find on videos sold by companies like Something Weird. I tend to go more for out-and-out raunch Feel free to keep swapping ideas and tought on the subject |

Yet another gem: Another version of "The Stripper" and finallyone which addresses that classic's biggest problem - namely it isn't long enough! This wonderful arrangement is 3:25 long!

Hi! I thought I'd jump into this thread as I am also a fan of classic burlesque striptease! In fact, it was Stroking_it who recommended this site to me! (Thanks S_i!)
For me an ideal strip is similar to Stroking_it. I would add that I like heavily beating drums, with the girl bumping and thrusting her hips in sync. I also like slinky, contour-hugging "mermaid dresses", and the ideal for me would be for the girl to pull down the dress to her waist, exposing her breasts but legs and hips still wrapped in the dress, so that she looks like a mermaid! But I have never seen an actual stripper do this. I have created Photoshopped images though that help me visualize this fantasy. In fact, in general I have a "topless-with-skirt" fetish. (Maybe I was a merman in a former life ) Sorry for the digression -- To get back to burlesque music, I second edgarcasey's endorsement of the strip music in The Graduate. There's also some hot music in the strip club scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's -- Unfortunately, most of it is overlaid with dialogue. The tracks on Music of the Stripper are all good as well. I'm a 3D animation geek, and I have been working to use Poser to produce striptease animations that fulfill my specialized fantasies. And I'm attempting to use my MIDI program (AnvilStudio) to write my own burlesque strip music -- The current problem is that I can't find a SoundFont of sufficiently sleezy burlesque-style trumpets. Anyway, I'm excited to find this site, and look forward to participating here! Dave P.S. Not to be pedantic, but I just though I'd mention that I think the music accompanying Ursula's "Magic Strip" was the theme from A Shot in the Dark, the original Clouseau film, before Panther. I love Ursula's strip BTW -- idyllic hip thrusts! |

Actually not being pedantic myself but I think you will find that A Shot in the Dark came AFTER the first Pink Panther film at least that was how it was always sequenced.

Looking at IMDB it looks like you're right -- It was only in the 70's that they decided that every Clouseau film had to have "Pink Panther" in the title...

When you're hot, you're hot! I can imagine that the very sexiest of women could interpret the Pink Panther theme in several ways-Mancini was going for the slinkiness of the panther although the stone was called the Pink Panther before it was attributed to the name of the thief!

Hmmm... I'm not sure what happened but last night I posted up saying that theer is a new Cd of Striptease music on Amazon. Go there and do a search for the Johnny Staccato Band and you will find an album called "Girls Girls Girls" with new arrangements ov a lot of old Striptease classics.

I had a look just now and the good thing is you can preview each track if you click on the main album title. There some real pearlers and some I wouldn't bother with but the best in my opinion are:
Night Train, One Mint Julep, Flamingo, Bumps and Grinds, Frankie and Johnnie, Tombstone Blues, Strippers Delight, Strip Blues, My Heart Belongs to Daddy(the only one with the mute trumpet) Moonglow & The Stripper-although it is one of the worst versions I've ever heard. If anyone buys it I'd be interested to know what you thought and at 0.79p for the download that isn't bad at all per download so you can pick and choose which you want OR get the whole CD.

I was on a search for any info on a show that ran on HB0, Gstring Div@s, and happened onto this thread. That had some fairly good music in it.
There was a piece of music I've been looking for but will probably never find it. I heard it in the movie "High Crimes" with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd. IMDB lists it as "Stripper Bar Groove", written by one of the guys that made the movie. Its a slow grinding Blues number. I have no idea of the name of the song but, going back to older strip scenes, Stefanie Powers in Escape to Athena dances to some old Burlesque music. Without actualy stripping, one of the sexiest film moments accompanied by great music was Salma Hayek in "From Dusk Till Dawn". The music, "After Dark" by Tito And The Tarantula's" |
