Cool

Kevin here. When I was young my parents were always telling my brothers and I that if we dug a hole and kept on digging we should end up in China. Off course that's stupid, and now there is a website that you can go to where you can put your location in and it will tell you where you will end up if you dig to the other side of the planet. I tried it using various locations in Australia, and guess what. If you could dig from anywhere in aussieland you would not only not reach China but no other land mass either. You would end up in various locations in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!

By the way the website is called: antipodesmap.com

Might find it a touch warm, somewhere along the way.

Btw, your parents gave you bad advice. The best place to dig is Australia -- you could find gold. They think there's still plenty to find

The Englšnders used to send petty criminals to Australia. Like America some years before, it was a penal colony, undeveloped, and particularly horrible in many ways. But when they discovered gold, people in England were saying "I'm guilty, I'm guilty!! Send me to Australia!!"

There is but much is way to deep to extract.

Here's a tourist place an hour from my hometown

I think Victoria is 3rd on the list for most gold found / mined throughout the world. There's still gold there but far too deep for a prospector to mine, anything else is for the mining companies who could afford the expense.

And some from the Gold Museum,

Yesterday afternoon we went to the tennis, great day out was very warm to hot but the sun was a killer, came home and must have drank 3 litres of Staminade before I went to bed.

Today was a killer, too hot for anything so we just watched tennis on TV Come 7 30 pm, being a nice evening we went for a walk, temperature out here at that time was till around 36 or so I reckon

You're dead wrong. I love hot summers. I wait almost 9 months for a typical hot humid or hot dry summer in Chicago. It's the beat season. The greatest pleasure is drinking ice cold beer when the temperature is 42 degrees Celsius(107 degrees F), but unfortunately temperatures that hot rarely come into Chicago. A typical hot Chicago summer has 13-16 days when the temperature will be 90 degrees F or higher.

The amount of times I've heard people from overseas say they get 40 degree days also and they can handle it then experience the difference brings a smile to my face when they change their mind and say "This is fucked"

There is a difference, it's all that barren and dry land that blows nothing but hot air down to the southern states plus the flies

I can just see you Estreeter in one of Chicago's worst snow blizzards. Snow coming down at a rate of 2 inces per hour, 60 mph winds and temperatures below -27 degrees Celsius. You'd be thinking "Oh, if only I brought my teddy bear!"
