In weather like this us attic dwellers don't get any sleep, it is too hot and humid at night and sleeping is virtually impossible UNLESS you sleep naked on a towel and keep a cooling system going all night, like a portable fan or air-conditioner. Roll on Autumn.

Is there not a downstairs room you could use?

I stay downstairs until around 3am but I couldn't sleep down there because it is only a two person sofa and because I am tall my legs stick out the end, over the armrest, making it uncomfortable. I could curl up but then I'd get too stiff or cramped up. One possibility could be to take the covers off the sofa and put them on the floor, using it as a makeshift bed but I am not if I could sleep like that. I just have to put up with it, luckily it does cool down eventually up here, so I pray the temperature stays in the 70s and not the 80s.

Think a doctor might be the best bet. I hate thinking you got something that needs attention. They keep advertising pills for such issues...Not sure if the side effects pay off for it or not.

I sleep too little. I wish I slept more since more then 10 years back. In my language there's a book called "The good sleep book". I've read in it.
Now whas it I wanted to say? Something slipped my mind. Maybe it's because I am a little tired. |

After nearly two decades of bad sleeping and early waking, last year I significantly improved my sleeping by using basic "sleep hygiene" techniques
Then three months ago I started helping a friend through a period of psychological difficulties and the stress deteriorated my sleep again until i was back to managing only four hours a night and waking in the small hours. Just over two weeks ago I began to develop an abscess on my back that grew to the size of a soup dish before I had to be taken into hospital this last Monday as an emergency admission to have it drained and cleaned out. Between Sunday morning and Thursday morning I had only five hours sleep, and now I have a palm-sized hole in the flesh of my back that is likely to take six to eight weeks to heal adequately. So I'm all the way back to crap sleeps and I don't expect things to improve until well into September at least.

Somebody above mentioned a prostate exam - if you haven't had one it's worth checking, but I had the same problem as you, including wetting a couple of times, and on examination I had no prostate problem - I found that stopping drinking well before bedtime was the best help. Something that might work or might just be specific to me: I found that on days when I ate spicy food, particularly food with lots of chilli in it, I felt a great deal of urgency to pee during the night even when my bladder was relatively empty - I've followed your "Junk Food Diary" and I think it's worth cutting down on spicy food as an experiment to see whether it helps.
