Big Grin How Stupid Is Your Employer

Had a hard day at the office or factory?
Putting up with management garbage all day?
Feel angry and want too vent some anger because of it ?

Do it here, tell us how dumb your boss is just for a laugh and some relief.

My employer, I work as an electrician for a brick manufacturer, today on a day off called me on the mobile and asked me too come in and help repair some damage that occurred. I asked what had happened, seems what I had warned them about did happen. About 6 weeks ago the plant manager, who is an accountant by the way decided too speed up a process, he asked what was required. I told him we had too move one switch, and install and extra switch and then make the program changes too the machine and the job would cost $90 dollars for the additional switch. He then asked if it could be done without the extra switch, I said yes but without it there was the potential for severe mechanical damage under the right circumstances. So in his wisdom he decided to have the job done without the extra switch as the company could not afford the $90 expense. Well today the damage happened, grand total of my educated guess would about the $45,000 mark , I'm hoping more

When I told him I could get there in 3 hours as i was 200 kM away he was not too impressed. I told him too speed the repair job up too get our contact electricians, and then being a typical accountant said "Do you know what they charge?", I nearly died laughing too myself.

Guess crap like that happens when an unsuitable profession runs a factory, might as well have a taxidermist running it.

I'll just ask should any member post here, by all means state your profession, but not your employers name

I would just like to officially put it on the record that this is the best thread idea EVER

Now me i always have at least a few bosses on the go , all of them complete can`ts !

Though a recent previous one (Ok they were three together but they all shared a brain) has to be up there with the creme d`la creme of toss-pots. As not only did they give me a totally rotten turd of an idea to work with. After i cleaned it up and made it sparkle ,they gave every impression last week that they were going to use it . Yet today tell me on reflection they're not .

So bye bye lovely MAC

Hello again crap heap laptop which hates me !

Oh and the reason they gave ?

" It's not what we're looking for "

Then why the hell did they come up with the stupid Cowboy/Vampire idea and waste my bleeding time

I work for myself now so i am my own boss, but i did work in a factory a few years ago and there was a new manager brought into work. he came in to the staff meeting, gave everyone a recital of his qualifications and what his big plans for the future was. he then spent the whole of the first week learning how to use the basic equipment like a pallet truck and a buffing machine. how is this guy going to run anything if he has no basic experience. in the end he lasted about 10 days i think before he left.
education is a great thing, but it is better when matched with experience.

For medical reasons, I retired a few years ago. My only occasional work are the performances with a small group of dance music.
A childhood friend runs a restaurant and asked us to act a few times a month to help improve certain nights of little public.
We agreed and went to play in exchange for dinner (we are 4 persons) and the drinks to make.
I guess I can say that he was my boss at that time, and I have to say that the work ended when one day while the team dismounted, my 8 year old son asked me water. I told him to ask my friend "the chief", and he asked for 2 euros per bottle
I have not see my friend / boss / ...

Salut !

My employer is the German government, and the government is scandalously stupid.

I'm an adjunct at the local university. Now, the German government, in order to protect adjunct workers from being exploited, limits the number of courses they can teach, and in addition they make sure that the money paid is a pittance. You see, if you keep the money low enough, no one in their right mind will try to make a living by doing it, thus no one will be exploited. Of course, all this means in reality is that the only work I can get is not enough to pay the bills or put food on the table.

New postings are basically impossible to get these days unless you are a woman.

But I'm also 47, so I can't just move my family to the States and expect to have jobs thrown at me as soon as I get off the plane.

I'm basically doomed to remain a poor earner the rest of my life, all because German government is "protecting" me.

I'm actually retired, but previously I was the boss, & I seem to recall plenty of stupid employees.
