Maybe the choice of the mirror is region dependant. When I choose Global Crossing, it crawls. I just wanted to know other's experiences. Again, if i choose the direct d/l option do i have to individually click on each RS link or can i copy and paste a set of links to somewhere on RS and have them downloaded? or do i have to use flashgot to do this? I am not clear as to what to do based on the answers given, due more to my inexperience than to your lack of clarity. I apologize. Please explain.

Rapidshare Problems - invalid session, reached download limit, IP address already downloading a file, etc ...
I don't get this - rapidshare.de downloads are no problem. Just hit "free", it counts down and you can download every time. On rapidshare.com, however you hit "free", and when it finishes counting down, ten-to-one when you hit the download button, it sends you a "download session invalid" message.
Infuriating! Any ways around this, without having to purchase a rapidshare premium account? |

I always get a message that says 'invalid session', or they tell me I've reached my download limit, when in reality I've downloaded nothing! In my case it's an ISP issue. As far as I know it's because my connection is routed through a 'proxy server' with everyone else who uses the same ISP. Rapidshare is able to detect this and as soon as 100MB [or whatever] is downloaded they 'pull the plug'. I tried using 'Rapget' as DubSalute suggested, but it still didn't work for me... it might work for you though, so it's worth a try. One alternative is to use your own 'Proxy server', but it's a lot of hassle. It's not easy to find a free one that works, some are very slow, they don't last very long and there are serious security issues. In the end I decided to buy a Premium account from Rapidshare [It's not a lot of money for what you get] which works perfectly with 'Rapget' - which is a great bit of software! dshell Last edited by dshell; March 4th, 2008 at 01:55 PM.. |

Thats also stated in the rapidshare.com FAQ:
Our system checks your IP-address in order to count the downloads. If you are getting this message and you really did not download anything, then you are using a proxy-server, which is used by other people as well. Even if you have no proxy-server set up in your configuration, there are many providers who force a transparent proxy-servers between you and the net. If you do not believe us, go to other pages telling you your IP-address (for example http://www.myipaddress.com.) But what can you do? You have to disable this proxy-server. If you are not able to disable the proxy-server, the only solution IS a Premium-account. Premium-users are recognized by cookies, not by IP-address. Unfortunately we cannot disable our IP-check, else people would download so much that we would have to close down this service completely. I hope you understand our situation in this matter. You can check if you are on a proxy server here: Lagado Proxy Test Could be a reason that rapidshare.de is still working for you because almost nobody uses it anymore ... No programs other browsers will help solve your problem when your internet service provider (ISP) uses a (transparent) proxy. Quote:
Leaving you with RS premium, it will work cause it uses cookies instead of IP adress or you could consider changing your internet service provider when thats not to much trouble, best then is to inform in a OK computerstore if there are options for good internet providers without a proxy where you live before making the switch. Rapidshare problems
When I try to upload certain files to them I get this message below. Most files go OK but some do not.
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Diagnose Connection Problems More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: Internet connectivity has been lost. The website is temporarily unavailable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. For offline users You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages. To view subscribed feeds Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view. To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages) Click Tools , and then click Work Offline. well, besides the obvious thing that your internet connection has failed - there might be other reasons.
You say this happens when you try to upload certain files... Check the type of file you are trying to upload. In some cases you can be denied access if the file type is unknown. I have experienced that changing the .mpeg ending of a file to .mpg solved this problem. .jpeg to .jpg and so forth. Rapidshare has a small program called "rapiduploader" that is free to download and use. I have tried it and finds it more reliable than uploading over my browser. Hope it might be of some help. |

No it really doesn't matter the file types. .mpg .avido the same thing. I can try them and they don't work. Try a different one and it works right away. Then then try the same one later on and it works. It's kind of strange.
