I would have liked the Houston Texans to win that one if Im honest. However, the best team on the field on the day should win and usually does. Boot Hill will just have to be patient: the Cowboys arent going there yet.

Boy, was I wrong about the Steelers, I thought they would struggle to win without Big Ben, 2and2 would be the best they could hope for. Wrong. They're playing great defense and not making the big mistakes on offense. I stand corrected.

... how all sports work, as a contest between the players on the field. Coaching from the sidelines during the game is not to be encouraged, it is much too much like power without responsibility.
Your point is well taken... sports should be between the on-field combatants.

But keep in mind that most, if not all, veteran QBs have the option to call an audible at the line if he thinks the play that was sent in is not a good idea based on the defense he sees (unless you're Jim Harbaugh and Ditka is your coach ) Football is a sport, but it is often like a chess-match as well.

I do agree that many in-experienced QBs get into trouble because they can't audible, can't do what comes naturally to them and they're thinking too much.

And be assured that coaches are not without responsibility. It's the coaches asses that are on the line and the first to go out the door if a team is not successful.

I was just being merciful for my first week in the pool As the newbie, I didn't want to intimidate or scare any of you away. Now, for my second week... it was time to kick some butt...

I want to thank my 'boys, the Falcons and the Seabags for my glorious victory all teams that few of you picked. I won in spite of the no-show by SF. WTF is up with the Chefs I've picked against them all three weeks... guess I'll have to consider picking them and stop calling them Chefs... they're reclaiming their Chiefs name.

We've had cheerleader avatars the first two weeks, and as much as I love cheerleaders, I think we'll go for something original this time. Enjoy displaying this as your avatars for the coming week:

p.s qwerty - you didn't think I missed those comments of yours last week, did you? I just waited for the opportune time to respond

p.s. scoundrel - I trust you'll agree I showed restraint here I could've trash-talked these boys mercilessly and it would've been fun but I used all of my intestinal fortitude to refrain

Wow...that's nice and modest. Glad I can wait 'til Tuesday AM to keep the girls there before putting up the angry rooster.

ON A SIDE NOTE:

So my Stillerz...and the Chiefs...are both 3 and owe. Surprising, to be sure...but if you asked what was more probable...not so sure...we'll see who is still undefeated by Tuesday.

These guys are all 0 and 3:

Detroit
Carolina
San Francisco
Buffalo
Cleveland

Biggest shock has to be the 49ers, who everyone was picking to win the NFC west...

...are we looking at one of the 5 teams who will be drafting first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft...(if there is a season)?

Generally speaking, a good quarterback should be able to read and understand the game. If he needs a coach to tell him what he should be doing then he is not the finished article as a quarterback.
Ah, scoundrel, but there's the rub: a GOOD quarterback. Presently in the NFL, there are only a select number of QB's I would allow to call their own plays: P. Manning, Brady, Favre, McNabb, Brees and Rivers. On the line are E. Manning, Romo, Hasselbeck, Rogers and Palmer. The rest I wouldn't trust to call bingo. And you're right, the rest of the QB's in the NFL are not finished articles. Some like Sanchez of the Jets or Schaub of the Texans are getting there. Some like Seneca Wallace of the Browns or Michael Vick may just be backups holding the position until the starter gets back. And Clausen of the Panthers and Bradford of the Rams are rookies and no matter what their background and skill level are getting all the plays from the coach. And then there are guys like Trent Edwards. Can you say UFL?

Are you for the Shitters too? I thought it was only ourlad; I don't remember you mentioning that, but my memory is in the same condition as my Bills; and my Argos lost to the pitiful Eskies today

I knew you'd love the modesty of my avatar That was just for you

San Fran needs a QB but they're not dead yet 'cause that division stinks. The others are fighting for number 1 - Go Bills!

BTW qwerty, you missed an edit I made to my earlier post; a message to you

Holy crap dude! Really? Really?!! You won, so you can pick whatever avatar you want, but...really? Slightly egotistical are ya?

Don't BS a BS'er Brother Cardinalcary. Your picks were completely thrashed last week & you hid out of embarrassment. You were like a naked, wet penis in a blizzard.

Like Jimmy Johnson said about your 'Boys back in the '90's: If your going to talk the talk you gotta walk the walk. Anybody can gloat when they win.

I trust you'll be serving up some humble pie for us the next time you lose?

LOL I'll gladly serve up the pie if I ever lose again. Yes, my picks last week sucked donkey balls
At least my post kept you from discussing the fine showing by your G-men vs the Titans today

(There was a family crisis last week I wasn't hiding)
