One thing that does naff me off, is the geeks on computer programming forums (takes one to know one). I've been researching something, browsing through forums, and on all of them the attitudes of a lot of posters to 'noobs' posing questions is deeply off-putting*. They almost never give an answer to the question the person asked, but instead offer conceited, sneering insults barely disguised as 'advice'. If you don't know the answer, or don't want to answer, why post at all? It's just an ego trip for pasty loners, and it's amazing to me by comparison how polite, thoughtful and friendly everyone is on this nudey-lady forum.

*I feel compelled to say that I know of one very honourable exception, a best-selling author who posts on his own forum, and uses his own free time to offer polite and helpful advice, regardless of skill level.

It is amazing and refreshing. I am on other forums (music/ history stuff mainly) and I have been trolled a few times - annoying!

But my question is why are the trolls invariably Mancunians?

Trolling on programming forums is endemic, pathological, and carried out almost exclusively by moderators and senior members. I always avoid posting on them for that reason.

Trolling is the 'Mancunian way' (see; Liam Gallagher, Morrissey, Roy Keane (honourable mention), me, etc).

I was angry for three days straight over this! But I should have know something was coming when Imagebam started to become spammy with pop-ups and re-directs just like other shitty image hosts. As a member I will be using postimage.io for general images and pixxxels.cc for adult images.

Speaking as a mod on VEF's sister forum, I am trying to remain positive as we brace for the result of this catastrophe.
