Inside No9. A dark English anthology comedy with a sort of very very clever Twilight Zone vibe about it.

I enjoyed quite a few episodes of the show. Especially the Burglars, the Doctor on the train and the Witch episodes. Glad to see its coming back also for a 3rd series.

I have also been watching Hunted the American version of the British show about trying to evade capture for a cash prize. I never saw the British version so have nothing to compare it with but its enjoyable. Not so much for the show itself but watching how the chasers hunt the people down. The tricks they use to find people and track their whereabouts are very interesting.

The Slap Shot 40th Anniversary special on the NHL network. If you play hockey, it's one of those movies you can recite almost every line . . .

SS-GB on BBC 1 Sunday nights.

Generally, not bad.

Unfortunately, the series started off with a really bad historical mistake when a Mk 9 (I think) Spitfire landed. The story was set a couple of years before this model entered service and it had D-Day stripes!

The mood of the show was quite good, although the sound was often unclear and muffled, which seems to be a feature of several recent BBC drama productions.

But worth staying with, although so far, not as good as Ridley Scott's "Man in the High Castle" set in the 1960s, which deals with the Nazis in America.

Yes I saw quite a few complaints about the sound which some say spoiled the show. I like the idea of the show and may wait until a couple of episodes are shown before I dive in a watch. That way watching a couple back to back will give me a better idea of if I will stick with it or not.

Has anyone noticed how almost every show these days is trying to be a Twin Peaks police procedural of some kind? And now that it's coming back, they gotta stop and watch the pro

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw Riverdale though. I watched it because of my girl, but admittedly I didn't think it was bad. I'm still waiting for iZombie to come back. THAT show is good.

And thanks to my nephew I discovered a funny cartoon show called Uncle Grandpa. Go check it out.

I've seen that advertised has well, but I've never watched it.

But for me, that title is HORRENDOUS!

Uncle Grandpa. In this day and age that just sounds SO WRONG!

Let me put it this way-if you saw a sweet, little girl call a hairy old man 'Uncle Grandpa', what would that make you think?

That title alone did turn me off at first and I was like oohhhh...I'm not sure about this. Luckily kids don't pick up on any connotations, but I understand that this show did in fact receive some backlash initially because of the title. I'm shocked it even lasted as long as it has because on top of the title, the show in enough itself is real odd and quirky. But what really sold me is the fact that there are other cartoon shorts within the show and there's one about this humanoid hot dog (aptly named Hot Dog Person) and a teddy bear. Bad things always happen to the hot dog while the bear always comes out unscathed.

Oh, that happens a lot. I wince whenever I hear it. But again...that hot dog though!!!

Thumbs up

Sun Records

The story of the early days of the recording company and its artists, such as Carl Perkins, Elvis and Johnny Cash. Good mixture of performance and period drama. First episode aired yesterday. Looks promising.
