Don't believe it. For years I have been writing to our local Highways Authority about a manhole cover outside my house. The edge is too prominent and every time a heavy vehicle went over it, I got my windows shaken half out. First letter about five years ago but was told it was "within acceptable parameters" and that it actually belonged to the water company and they had no jurisdiction (really

Today, a gang turned up, roped off a bit of road and fixed it.

At last! I am gobsmacked.

He wrote a ps 'I don't know what Greenfiddle (Glenfiddich) is, but could you please bring some for grampy.'

Our new SUV has a remote start feature that turns on the heat, the seat warmers and the heated steering wheel when it detects low temps. Nice to go out to a warm car when it is below freezing outside. And in the summer it turns on the A/C and blows cool air through the seats.

Good Old Fashioned Pay Back

Not the sinister type, the fun type

I work night shift, tend to get to bed between 5:30 and 6:15, fall asleep within minutes usually ...... but the amount of sleep varies,

I love it

when someone I know knows I'm on roster and asleep but phone me anyway

So. I like annoying them during the day while they're busy at work with a pointless hello phone call

Did 2 of them today

Mrs E and her daughter went to her Mum's this morning before I got up and won't be back till late tomorrow

I've got the house to myself

I can be a pig and be one here all day
