To preface I say I like a lot of modern porn as well as vintage. That said there's a lot of vintage porn as crappy for the for the same reasons modern porn is crappy when it's crappy, poor photography, performance, etc.

Many good reasons for liking vintage I agree with in this discussion. I would also suggest a dopamine effect. This effect is strongest when listening to music I haven't heard in a long time. It even happens when watching old commercials and TV show intros on youtube.

The effect is I believe caused by the way the brain works. Brain function is fundamentaly a dopamine activity. Dopamine is the signal that jumps across the synapses of neurons just like electrons are the signals that jump across the circutes of computers. Dopamine is an opiate. Cocaine also activates the dopamine system. When seeing anything the brain accesses memory to recognise anything. Normally the memories accessed are frequently accessed so there is a normal level of dopamine in the brain. When old memories are accessed brain synapses that do not normally fire their dopamine signal do fire their dopamine. This causes an above normal level of dopamine in the brain. This causes an opiate like euphoria.

Sound, music especially, and scent most of all. strongly stimulate the brain and memory. Of course there are obvious variations. What are old memories for me are not for someone much younger or older.

Slower pacing, more hairy vaginas, less trashy women (even though I can get a bone for that, have to be in the mood though), and I can last through a whole film. It's tougher with a modern porn scene, and I can't bother with a full movie. Scenes these days are too long, and choosing what to watch now is based on the woman alone. I love vintage porn because most of the women were good looking. In todays porn most of the women are average looking at best. They have almost no acting skills and look like they are doing porn just to get enough money to buy drugs. I like vintage because porn is better viewed on film. It's fantasy, and film lends itself to that. I don't even mind damaged or worn out film, it gives it even more of a fantasy feel. For me, the late 1980s to the middle/late 1990s encapsulates what I consider "vintage".
