Here is my report on 'Bond in Motion' the James Bond exhibition in the London Film Museum, at Covent Garden. I must just first say that this museum is a lot smaller than the Beaulieu one(National Motor Museum) in Southampton I went to two years ago, and subsequently didn't have the floor space for all the vehicles. However, all that said it was a good exhibition with many of the cars we all know and love, along with other vehicles such as 'SKYFALL' motorcycles, Minisub(D.A.F.) and 2CV & Tuk Tuk(FYEO)
All the major cars were there and each had a looping video playing the scenes which featured them. If you missed anything you could just wait for it to loop around again.

I noticed that the Ice Dragster wasn't there because the original was just too big for this museum but the models used were there. Speaking of models there was a cardboard MI6 building and props and models from various films including the firing box used to control the machine guns & missiles in 'Die Another Day'

Many of the Aston-Martins were present including the ones that had been shot up and rolled in 'Quantum of Solace' It always makes me wince when I see these beautiful marques damaged. A few things that weren't in Beaulieu were storyboards by Martin Asbury(one time illustrator of Daily Mirror strip cartoon GARTH) and scripts. I also noticed various props like passports, gadgets and even a gun plus models that were dotted about. There was a small set of merchandise in one clear box-this showed various items from models to airfix kits and in one corner a Scalextric track that you could drive a Jaguar around. One novel idea was for £8 you could wear a dummy shirt & bow-tie with a jacket and be photographed, then added to the famous gun barrel logo as a picture. You would be surprised how many people did this even though the jackets barely fitted some. It had a fine shop with all sorts of memorabilia from Bond In Motion on pens, badges, t-shirts and mugs to other memorabilia including James Bond playing cards, gambling sets and even spy pens and watches.

All in all for £15 it was good value for money but I think you need to be a REAL fan to appreciate it all. Take a good camera(but remember to turn off your flash) or camcorder or even an iPad/camera and get up close to the vehicles. It is a real gem for all Bond fans. Details can be found here www.londonfilmmuseum.com and it runs right through until NEXT year.

I will post some pictures shortly.

Hi all. I hope this is the right place for this. Blu-ray.com currently has some Bond Blu-rays on sale for 4.99 each. If you are looking to complete your collection or just add to it this is a good time and that is a good site. I love the Blu-ray because of everything I missed in the films until seeing them on blu. One of the opening sequences, I think for your eyes only the women are wearing see-thru white jump suits you couldn't really see through them on DVD.

Quote from Daily Mail seen today:
"Former James Bond, Sir Roger Moore, 86, says he can't afford to retire because I have to keep working to afford the petrol for my Smartcar'. The rich often amuse themselves by joking about being poor. Although he had to paid out £6.5m to his third wife Luisa, after leaving her for the twice-divorced Danish-Swedish multi-millionairess Kristina 'Kiki' Tholstrup, 71, in 1995. Moore's wealth is estimated at £10m and Kiki's at £38m - I think that they could afford a new Smart car - never mind the petrol- for every outing."
I wonder if his car stickers says 'My other cars are Aston-Martins.'

You HAVE to see this to believe it. Nick Bennett's incredible collection of James Bond memorabilia has just entered the new Guinness Book of World Records for 2015 as the world's largest. When you see it, you will see why.

Scroll a little way down for a video featuring Mr Bennett.

This week was the 50th anniversary of 'Goldfinger' which is still considered to be Connery's best. It's budget of £2m was equal to those of the first two films 'Dr No' and 'From Russia With Love' combined. If you'd like to know more about the film, check out the GD&N section and the Did you know... thread.

HOROWITZ GEARS UP TO WRITE NEW BOND NOVEL.

Anthony Horovitz, writer of the Alex Rider novels for teenagers has been invited to write the next James Bond novel. The novel provisionally titled 'Project One' and could include access to Murder on Wheels, a story written by Ian Fleming in the late 1950s as a treatment for a tv episode that was never made. Covering several pages, it begins with Bond being assigned to protect Stirling Moss, the target of a Russian sabotage operation. Enemy agents are conniving to force him to crash in a plan to demoralise Britain. Lucy Fleming, the author's niece, said that the story put Bond in a new setting but one that suited the character.
"Ian loved cars, and James Bond loves driving, so perhaps Bond will be going even faster that ever" she said. "Ian wrote some James Bond TV scripts in response to an interest from a US broadcasting company but they were never used, Some he used for short stories --The Living Daylights, Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only -- but not for this one."

She said there were no plans to publish 'Murder On Wheels', though it could feature in an appendix to Horowitz's book if there was a demand for it. Horowitz had stated two years ago that he wouldn't be interested in writing a Bond novel because "of the hype and parade that it would involve." Horowitz who wrote the Alex Rider series and screenplays for TV's Foyle's War said in a statement it was a book he "had to write."

"It's no secret that Fleming's extraordinary character has had a profound influence on my life, so when the Estate approached me to write a new Bond novel, how could I refuse?" he said.

I read in the paper this morning that Debbie Newsome who was in For Your Eyes Only-credited as 'Snow Bunny' has said that Sir Roger Moore groped her when she was filming in Cortina back in 1981. I sincerely hope that nothing comes of this but it is odd that she would wait for so long to speak up. We await to see if anything comes of this.

Well the secret is out. The new James Bond film will be called 'SPECTRE' and will once again star Daniel Craig as 007. Christoph Waltz will be the villain called Oberhauser which could be the genesis of Blofeld. Andrew Scott(Moriarty in Sherlock) is also cast as is Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux as two of the Bond girls. Not a lot else is known and filming and rehearsals begin next week, with the film due out next November.

Monica didn't look too chuffed to be stood next to the much younger Lea at the launch... lol. Great casting though, with mssrs Waltz & Scott also added to the unmissable series.
