Did you know that in the song Man on the Moon by REM Michael Stipe, its lead singer mention six different board games, Monopoly, 21, Twister, Chess, Chequers, Risk and Game of Life(not in that order) and at least three different songs also mention Dr Seuss and the Cat in the Hat references.

This is interesting. Did you know that Bing Crosby got his nickname(real name is Harry Lillis Crosby) from a cartoon strip in a newspaper called the 'Bingville Bugle' of which he was a big fan.

Did you know that the most expensive substance on Earth is antimatter at $62.5 trillion per gram? Compare that to $55,000 per gram for diamonds.

an awkard name
In july 1931 Swallow Sidecars using their coach works and their motor with a chassis made by Standard Motor Company launched a new model with an ad proclaiming "The SS is coming". Through the 30's and early 40's the cars sported an "SS" hood emblem. There even exists a picture of British Royalty sitting in a car with the "SS" logo. Given the unpleasantness with an across the channel foe the company decided to change the name and adopted the name of their best engine as the name of the company thus was born "Jaguar"

Someone was complaining about that particular car in SS-GB on BBC1 in the You Say section of the Culture magazine(Sunday Times) This seems to a section on each television page for complete pedants who go on about the slightest mistake they spot, usually in dramas. The wrong Routemaster Bus was one of them and also in SS-GB the wrong version of a Spitfire!

Sheena Easton was one of the first really big reality tv stars(before the phrase was coined) thanks to a show with Esther Rantzen called 'The Big Time' where one episode they took a young Scottish girl and made her into a recording star. She had a few number one hits in the chart like 9-to-5 and Modern Girl, before she became to date the only singer of a Bond tune to actually appear in the title sequence filmed face up but looked topless- this was for For Your Eyes Only - (she wasn't topless btw) and then went to Las Vegas where she recorded songs with Kenny Rogers and the late Prince. The last time she was in a bit of state in a wheelchair but seemed to recover. She has recently come back to the UK to star in stage show musical 42nd Street
