Transferring 8mm films

Hi,

I have 5x 8mm films of breast fighting - cat fights between two women were the only target area is each other's breasts.

Is there a member of good standing who can transfer these ?

I bought these 5 small reels years ago on eBay. I have not done anything with them before, nor seen these films online before. I think these amateur films but I am not sure about that.

It's a shame that you've not got an 8mm projector, a screen and a dvd camera, then you could try doing it yourself by videoing the projected film.

Although if they are films with sound you'd have slighlty trivky time recording the sound to a decent standard.

'bygoneguy' certainly used to offer this service, and free for VEF members. He has made a great job of transfers he has done for me. Don't let the fact that he is in OZ put you off! He has his own website if you do a Google search.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to do much film transferring in recent times.

One reason is I haven't had the time due to work, even to transfer my own films. I am sitting on several hundred films, many that have never been released previously. I would love nothing more than have the time to transfer them and upload to VEF because I love this forum and the great work that many do here.

Another is the core computer I used that had all the specialist equipment and software on it died about 8 months ago and I haven't had time to setup a new computer to work with the transfer gear I currently own.

The final reason is that I am looking to upgrade my transfer rig to one that supports transferring in HD (720p) and is sprocketless. I have many rare films that I haven't been able to push through the old rig because they have sprocket damage and the old rig is sprocket based with a claw. I also want to use a rig that can capture the full film frame (right to and including the sprocket holes) to get as much of the image as possible. My old rig didn't do that.

At this point I am hoping to be be back transferring early next year. I will post an update to this thread when I can provide some services again. I only provide the service for rare films, either films not posted previously or the only versions on VEF are really poor quality.

I have never seen these films online before...Breast Fighting is sadly a topic there aren't too many films for...

If you have several reels, and by several I mean a dozen or more, you
might consider purchasing a machine that will transfer them for you.
These machines used to carry ungodly price tags, but it looks as though
modern technology has caught up to these old relics, with reliable machines
as low as $300, and the ability to transfer your video in digital format to SD
or SDHC cards. I tossed the idea of purchasing one myself, after running
across a very rare 8mm film a while back, but decided that for one reel,
it probably wasn't worth it to me. At any rate, here's an example of one :
