Person from 2017 going into 1317 would probably die quicker - no electricity, no fast food, no good cures for ailments like Tylenol etc.
Also the language, clothes & alot of other such would be way too much fro the person from 2017 to deal with.

Not forgetting the 'religion' aspect:

The 1317 person would find the mix of religions and clearly stated atheism of some people shocking and disturbing.

The 2017 person would probably be burned at the stake for not being strictly roman catholic, or blasphemies such as "Oh god, where's the toilet paper?"

About 20 years ago, I've watched a TV report in which they asked to anthropologists about the human evolution.
According to all of them a baby born 40'000 years ago and time transported in today, would live and adapt in our time and technology without any problem.
Even a 14 years old 1317 teenager would ride a motorbike when he will be 18 and play electronic games... That would be more a shock for a 60 years old person.

I once read a novel about a woman who managers a cafe in modern day London, who wakes up one day to find herself the owner of a tavern in Roman Gaul.
How that happens is just a plot device to tell a very entertaining story of extreme culture shock, both for the woman and the Gauls and Romans she comes in contact with.
I wish I could recall the name of the book.

Bollocks!!! You've got a strange notion of what it's like to be 60 [or over].

I've got a PS4 and various Apple devices and can work them fine [ provide I'm wearing my reading glasses]

Don't know about the motorbike but I can drive a car without killing anyone and I can fix the car myself which is more than most young people can do these days.

You probably are right.
Fore sure it also depends on the intellect of the guy coming from 1367.
But the shock and the time to adapt for an elderly person would be more difficult than for a teenager.

Do not forget that in 1990, when you bought your first computer, you was 30 years old. You still was young. You have lived all your life with cars around you.

I'm not sure that now if we send you back in 1367, you will learn old scottish language as easy as if you would be 15 years old.

I'm not telling that you would be unable to adapt yourself, but it will last a long long long time.

You'd be hard pressed to find a 60 yr old in 1317,35 was considered old then.

I think young people would have a harder time, if they had to to adjust to a lifestyle of 40 or 50 years ago than older people do to a modern world ;
Imagine forcing a kid to walk 3 miles to school, without an iPad

Imagine telling a kid to get up, walk to the TV and turn the volume knowb down

Imagine telling a kid that your teachers will be allowed to belt you for fucking up

Imagine telling a kid to chop some wood for the stove so Mum can make dinner

Another thing that would blow the mind of the person from 1317 is the volume of people in 2017. The original post had the exchange in Colchester, which has a population of about 120,000. A quick search couldn't find the population in 1317, but I can't imagine it being any more than 1/10th of the modern population.

Probably. I don't know the statistics.
The potential to reach 70 years old already was in our genes.

After your remark I spent 10 minutes to look at French kings and queens of that era.

Louis IX (1214-1270) 56 years old
Marguerite de Provence (1221-1295) 74 years old.
Philippe IV (1293-1350) 57 years old
Blanche de Navarre (1333-1398) 65 years old
Jean d'Orléans (1399-1467) 67 years old

But the other ones mainly died between 20 to 55 years old.

According to a text I just read, in the XVIIIth century, in France (must be the same in UK) half of the children died before to reach 10 years old.
