Nothing special, just converting (in a decent quality) a MP4 file into, Avi, DivX, MPEG or DVD

Avidemux and Super comes to mind. You can find them both in this thread. And probably many more.

Ultra Video Converter works with MP4 and most other stuff, pretty basic but you can chose quality, and then you can mess about with the avi file with avidemux or your program of choice.

Avidemux isn't very good with MP4

I use one called Pazera Free MP4.
They also make a decent converter for FLV to AVI.
