As others will have noticed, I see that the Brit Govt. is blaming Russia for the 'spy poisoning' scandal and yet the only bit of evidence they seem to have is that the poison was made in the Soviet Union.

To me, this is a bit like wanting to punish Germany if a terrorist (who escapes so no-one knows who they were) uses a VW camper van to run people over and kill them.

The poison is made in very tightly controlled Russian Govt military lab. The only people who have access to it are members of the Russian military/secret services. To be used without sanction from the very highest level it must have been stolen. A very risky thing to do.

As seany65 implies, at present there is no legal case at all.

Unlike in the previous murder of a Russian agent in England, and unlike in the murder of Kin Jong-un's half-brother in Malaysia, it seems there is (at present) no idea who exactly did it, where exactly, how exactly, or when exactly.

At present, it looks as if the Russians - or somebody - has committed a perfect crime.

There is a time in diplomacy where actions are needed. You can bet that the British Government knows a lot more about this than the press, or the corbwhine, he will not have access to a lot of the intelligence material that the people who made the decision do.

To claim that the Russian top folk knew nothing about this is completely naive, almost embarrassingly pathetic, unless you think that a member of the public can walk into Porton Down, or that their security is so weal that someone working there could walk out with anything. My ex brother in law was MOD Police there, and you needed to go through a couple of checkpoints just to visit the married quarters!

This nasty stuff is made exclusively in a top secret Russian laboratoty, as harold states, the method is not new, been used before, more than once, so what is our government to do? Wait foir a massive cock up which poisons thousands of our people?

I noticed the Treasury have made a very fast u-turn in deciding to scrap our 1p and 2p coins...that makes a change!

I also saw the draw for the Champions League and of all the teams we(Liverpool) didn't want we draw Man City! What are the odds out of eight teams that we end up with each other and avoiding the really big clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

If there is this evidence, then they should show us. As for concerns over 'security issues' if they do give out the info, surely they are less important than the 'security issue' of edging ever closer to war with Russia.

How do we know this stuff is only made in Russia? Because the Brit Govt. says so?

Where are the hard and not misunderstandable facts of the Russian poisonings, who are justifying the claims against Russia.

Words as "likely", "presumably" doesn't help in this case.

Yes I know, I was being ironic.
Worrying that you can't blast it with nuclear weapons for fear of showering Earth with radioactive rocks so how do you get rid of it? I think we have to hope and in some cases pray that it missss us, but I doubt I will be around to worry about it either -pass the tin hat mother!
