I started the 1999 season of Power Rangers yesterday, Lost Galaxy. Being the first to establish the changing of cast and suits per season, as well as a 1-season only storyline that has become now a tradition, it's also home to a first that I learned today.
The first marriage of Power Ranger cast members. Apparently the Green Ranger in that, Damon, played by Reggie Rolle, married Amy Miller, who was one of the main villains from that season, Trakeena, after the show wrapped. As far as I've read, they're still married and have kids together. Fucking lucky man, she is hot. Even in that bug outfit she wears. Same season that has Cerina Vincent, who was Maya the Yellow Ranger. Beyond Power Rangers, she's probably most famous for being naked all the time in Not Another Teen Movie. So, it can be said Lost Galaxy had the hottest women in the franchise. |

I discovered today - that I got conned today out of £ 395 - from early 2016
from Resolution Claims of Cumbernauld - when I tried to phone them up to ask whats going on .. as I was told the claim was ' doing well ' last Xmas ( I find today that they have gone out of business - or ceased trading ) I was that promised a pay-out for a claim on damages for an 20 year Insurance Policy - that was supposed to pay £ 50,000 and only got me £ 25,000 They are scam artists of the 1st degree - I fell for their promises of a no win no fee claim , when I was in a really low mood ( I was getting real hassle from my old work ) and then was hit by a threat of legal action when I at first refused to pay their demand of payment - as I had ' missed ' the small print - of the terms and conditions - lesson learnt - the hard way - a lot of others are in the same condition as me - its not even the money , its the anger of being conned . |

What Have You Learned Today ?
Just how many of our Fellow Forum Fellas decide to freshly contribute onto a thread , as if the page they`re posting on is the only one that exists of that thread
Not that there`s anything wrong with that Oh and also today learned why the Ale House (Hey if you don't know what Ale House , you should check back pages once in awhile ) was so busy on Saturday Nope wasn't to do with -Shudder- the "Wedding". Turns out most arrived to see the Chelsea Man U game that afternoon Now I`d have taken snaps of just what occurred far below my V.E.F supplied penthouse , at the Ale House. Only several people brought many very young children. Who ran amok. So couldn't. What I can say however is they popped those fliers (Back pages people ) through saying they`d have face painting , a raffle , ice cream stall ,carnival music , photo booth , theater (Don't ask me ) , Pims bar , Henna tattoos and Children`s game etc. Hmmm. What was there in actuality. The ice cream stall. Uh huh. That`s it. Nothing else. Not even the professed BBQ , despite the weather being sunny. Geez those previously boasting buggers didn't even put up any decorations. On my beloved membership , swear ain't kidding. Even funnier they blocked off the street with empty beer kegs. For truthies Just don't ask me how I know they were empty

I am in the habit, after my morning shower, of just putting a smear of Savlon cream under...that bit Jewish gentlemen don't have...to keep things healthy.
I also use a tiny dab of athletes foot cream between the old toes. What I have learned today is that you should never, ever get the two similar looking creams mixed up! |

Something making the rounds today is a photo of Jet Lit looking completely different than what was seen even 4 years ago with The Expendables 3 movie. I don't feel like sharing the photo, iit's that heartbreaking, it's easy to search anyways if you type just his name in a search engine. Even looking at a photo from January of this year, compared to this one, it looked like he just lost his hair. But this particular one aged him another 10 years, it's really sad to see. He came after Jackie Chan for me in my childhood affinity with martial arts films that still carry over today. The perfect alternative to lighthearted Chan films really. For the longest time I had only watch the 4th movie in the Lethal Weapon franchise, not bothering with the other ones, because he was in it, easily the best part in my opinion.
I never knew of his various things like hyperthyroidism and a heart condition. It's also kind of not surprising to get this kind of news on a Monday, damn it all. |

I finished Power Rangers Lost Galaxy yesterday, and throughout learned some interesting things. One right off the bat that I kept forgetting to share is that their military uniform were the same ones used in Starship Troopers. Even crazier is that this season's biggest villains and the foot soldiers are bugs. Here's Lost Galaxy...
Starship Troopers. I tried to find studio links, thinking Starship Troopers was a Fox production, and Power Rangers at the time was owned by Saban, but licensed through Fox Kids. Nothing big, maybe costume people were friends or something, it's strange. Trivia reading throughout this season, I also developed the phrase "Oh Saban." The phrase meaning when they mess up on things due to contracts, business, money basically. Cheap bastards. In the middle of the season, Valerie Vernon, who played the Pink Ranger, Kendrix, was diagnosed with leukemia (she's leukemia-free now). Her replacement was set to be Patricia Ja Lee, who was the Pink Ranger in the previous 2 seasons. Definitely looking at the 2nd part of the In Space/Lost Galaxy teamup episode that the clear signs were there for her be the replacement, but the following episode erased that. Lee and Saban couldn't come to an agreement, she was being payed "guest star" money and wouldn't be paid more than that despite being a series regular to fill in a massive hole. At the same time, they kept Vernon on the opening credits, so that they could help pay for her chemo treatments. Even so, that sucks, but the person who did fill in the void was probably even better. Melody Perkins, who played the villain Astronema in the previous season, turned good, and basically created, originally unintentional, an amazing 2 season arc. She was in an episode of CSI: Miami, I learned last night and gave it a watch. Unfortunately she was a dead body in that, though there were flashback scenes of her that explained her murder. Still, boo. First time watching that show, to put it simply, it's not a bingeworthy series, I'll leave it at that. Another "Oh Saban" moment I learned yesterday, the Lost Galaxy team plus the main villain in that, Trakeena (Amy Rolle, who married her costar Reggie Rolle, lucky bastard) return in Lightspeed Rescue for that teamup. I'm going to start Lightspeed Rescue today. I know some controversy around it though, Amy Rolle didn't like that her character had less screen time than a random little girl, pay was not good, so she quit that episode. A replacement came in, and Danny Slavin, who was Leo the Red Ranger in Lost Galaxy, quit that episode too in solidarity with Amy Rolle. With him, a stand-in was used to finish scenes, and someone had to loop his voice. Slavin's pay was piss poor as well, again, cheap bastards. With Lost Galaxy, for a brief period, they raked in the highest ratings ever in Power Rangers history, as far as I've read, they still haven't been beaten. Brief though, they declined as the show went on, but I learned last night that a big reason for that was Saban switching time slots with a property they wanted to promote more. A little, tiny thing called Digimon. The anime, this would come up as my time period of personal memories, I watched Digimon quite a bit back then, and especially the first movie. Like Power Rangers, Digimon had an amazing theme song, can't fault them for that. Lost Galaxy had the highest death count too. I'll call it the Power Rangers equivalent to Game of Thrones or Walking Dead. Actually, people didn't die before this season, well some during In Space, like Zordon, and an offscreen death of a random kid. Two, Zordon Wave destroying various villains, but eh. It specifies on-screen deaths. 16, and they were spaced out to where a death happened every couple episodes, and it was a 45 episode season. So the concept of death was very familiar in this season. Between that, slightly more mature tone, and a complete filler episode that turned out to be an Alien(s) ripoff...in a kid's show, Lost Galaxy is a season to check out for non-fans. Plus it was the first that fully committed to the now-traditional cast change per season. Thus, all storylines are contained within this season, not needing to go back or forward. Some little threads from the previous season like Astronema (her real name being Karone), and the In Space crossover, but still. |
