Have to add my condolences to this thread! I've got the first issue of both the Sunday Sport from September 14th 1986 (with Zeta Ross on the cover) and the Daily Sport from 17th August 1988 (with Sarah Hollett as the Page 3 girl). I'll miss those classic made-up headlines, but probably more importantly loads of pics of the girls who were also appearing in DS's mags at the time!
And it's only taken me a month to notice that it wasn't in the paper shop any more!

Bernard Manning
I know it was famous for its headlines but there is one thing I recall form the Daily Sport that made me burst out laughing. Around the time Tony Blair became leader of the Labour Party Bernard Manning wrote in his guest column "That Margaret Beckett's definately got the looks of a winner. A Derby winner".

It tried for a bit of credibility with the likes of Brian Hayes(late of LBC news and Radio2) and Bobby Moore doing the editiorials, but for me once they stopped using pics of the original page 3 girls and went for the larger, more pneumatic and lets face it less prettier girls in that paper it went downhill for me.

Surely the shortest death in history...as it was back in the shops today! Apparently it will now only be published on a Sunday, but will remain on sale until Tuesday, so don't worry (!) if you missed it today, as will be in the shops for another two days yet! Here's the cover and DS's editiorial explaining what's happening...
Far be it for me to suggest that this might be another of DS's marketing scams!

Some of the "stories" were written by a reporter called 'Bertie Ollocks". That made me laugh
