How many of you aren't excited by black and white photos?
I know it's entirely a matter of personal taste but nonetheless I am curious to know how many of you, like me, aren't sexually excited in the slightest by a black and white image. I can appreciate them artistically but I'm not burping the worm over them, put it that way.
In fact lighting and color are very important to me in porn. Some of the real vintage color stuff from the 60's and 70's is great but it has something of an artificial tinge to it which puts me off slightly. On the other hand, a lot of modern porn turns me off by having lighting which is too bright and clinical. Sometimes I can scan a huge thumbnail gallery of porn shots in less than a second and my eye automatically picks out the ones that it knows I'll like - a combination of picture quality, lighting, quality of color, presence of large breasts and most of all, a nice thick bush. I can look at 100 thumbnails in a microsecond and decide there's nothing there for me. I wonder who else has this highly developed porn eye like me. I'm guessing most of you! |

Black and white photos have the same effect on me as the color ones.

I can get just as turned on from a B&W picture as a colour picture.
Most of the B&W pictures were taken by "proper" photographers and, as the lighting was crucial to the shots, more care was taken. Also during the time of B&W photography few real women shaved, therefore there are more hairy shots in B&W photos. The worst shots for me were taken late sixties, early seventies, when the colour balance never seems very good. But as with all photos and films, if the subject is good, some of the technical shortcomings can be forgiven. |

I find that the B & W have more depth and if the contrast and balance is correct they give far more detail

To answer the op's question: I find black and white shots just as good as color. |

Doesn't Matter.
I like both B&W and Color if they're done correctly. When I look at the work of Ansel Adams I wonder why anyone ever bothered to invent color photography. JMHO

In the eye of the beholder
The key to this is that it must be well done, so I suppose it depends upon the photographer to a huge extent. I have seen colour shots that really did nothing for me, while a well taken black and white is really good.

It may be me being arty farty but I think the true media for photographs is black and white, and the girls from 1959 look just a hot as the girls from 2009

The photo has to turn me on, period. B&Ws can be tough to wade through because they all blend together on a quick scan of the eye. When you break it down to the girls, I generally prefer pics from the past as they are generally sexier to me personally. I'll never understand all the tattoos. Quite honestly, there are very few girls who have stood out to me in the last 10 years, vivid color aside.

B&W photos
Right on Knuckleshuffler.
B&W photos probably also have that illicit quality about them. Most of the older magazines were shot that way and when you saw your first Hard core it was probably in black & white and that gave it a rougher more edgy riskier feel, that it was something dangerous and illegal you were looking at and thats what made it exciting as much as the content.
