Nude forever?
I had an interesting thought today and I wonder if anyone else ever had the same thought and, if so, what conclusions they might have come to.
This forum, it strikes me, could be viewed as a database of every image of every top shelf magazine from this year (in the modern forum) all the way back to very genesis of that media - and that is surely a good a thing for many reasons, not all of them venal. (I would not be so hypocritical as to deny the venal attraction of this site, but it also (for example) serves as a record of history of an important part of the modern age). I wonder, however, if all of the girls who posed nude for these magazines in the days before the internet - in the days before they could even imagine the concept of the internet as it is today - I wonder (all of) them would have done so if they had known that they would be nude forever on sites such as this? I that period runs up to the end of the nineties - (even as late as that nobody could have comprehended the sheer availability of storage on sites such as ImageBam or the speeds of downloads that make forums like this possible). I don't think that question applies to those who allowed themselves to be filmed, but for those who were purely soft-core photography models, would they have done it if they'd known that twenty, thirty, forty, fifty plus years on those images would still be available and still being used for the original intended purpose? |

From my perspective, the opposite outcome has occurred. Girls today are looking for their fifteen minutes of fame and are way more willing to show the goods.

This has also crossed my mind especially the women that sent pics into amateur contests and girls that were on spring break or in college and posed on a whim

Probably the best way to find out the answer is to go to Glamourcon or a similar event, and ask the models that show up to sign autographs and meet their fans how they really feel about the modern availability of their vintage nudes. Me, I think I'd rather ask how they feel about Playboy not publishing nudes anymore, and how that reflects on their willingness to do so over the years. Specifically, how do they feel about the women that wouldn't pose for Playboy when they did nudes, that are now posing because they aren't anymore (there have to be at least a few).

Of course, it depends on the model in question. Some posed because they were looking for some extra cash while others were hoping to jump start a professional career as a glamour model or dramatic actress. There have even been several women who were exploited or coerced into stripping down for the camera. I've never heard of a past Playmate regretting their decision to pose nude in my findings, but some do wish their nude photos weren't as widespread. So aside from meeting various models at conventions (as someone else mentioned), all you can really do is just answer you question by looking at the circumstances surrounding why a certain woman posed in the first place.

I know two ex-glamour models. One is horrified that open-leg pictures of her are all over the web. The other is really happy about it and enjoys knowing that men all over the world are seeing her naked.
It all depends on the girl, I guess. |
