Amy Locane a US Actress who starred in 'Melrose Place' and 'Cry-Baby', was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault after she killed someone in a drunk-driving accident in New Jersey on Sunday, June 27, 2010 ... rest on original posting. She has a thread here.

I sometimes stumble across the outcomes of the trials etc when I am looking for something else .... So, as I didn't add much at the time to this actress from "School Ties" and "Secretary", I will add a bit more now. She was driving with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when in her SUV and in November 2012 a jury convicted Amy Locane-Bovenizer of vehicular homicide in the 2010 death of 60-year-old woman in Montgomery Township. Strangely Ms Locane-Bovenizer didn't testify during the trial, which is a little unusual as a defence tactic.

Finally after legal representations to the court, on Thursday, February 14, 2013, Amy Locane-Bovenizer was sentenced to three years imprisonment for a deadly drunk driving crash that left NJ woman dead. The victims relatives were not happy .... The victims husband shouted "What a travesty!" after the sentence was read. He was joined in the outrage by her son, who cried out "This is not justice," before he stormed out of the courtroom.

Not a huge amount of sympathy for the victims family from the Locane clan, after the judge lowered the maximum sentence citing the 'hardship' on Locane-Bovenizer's two young children (One has a serious medical and mental disability). The defense stated that her sick child was deteriorating physically and psychologically since the actress' incarceration and how a prolonged sentence would make matters worse. "I'm just glad her little girls will have their mother back soon," said Locane-Bovenizer's mother. The actress did however apologise to the victims family, and the Judge said that though he had no sympathy for the actress, her children should not suffer even more because of her actions.

Locane-Bovenizer will be eligible for parole after two and a half years, and will be credited the 81 days she has already served. She also had her license suspended for five years and will be on probation for three years after her release. She must pay several thousand dollars in fines.

Jonell Green was born in Jamaica, but her family emigrated to the USA, where she was a child actress - she appeared as the voice of 'LaShawn' in the show 'Bébé's Kids in 1992 and then as 'Dashawn Curtis' in 4 episodes of the Cosby creation 'A Different World', and in TV shows 'Roc' and 'Sister-Sister' in 1993. It was expected that she would go on and have a good career but for some reason the roles dried up after 'A Different World' was cancelled. She got a degree as a medical assistant, but said that “It didn’t satisfy my pockets, and it didn’t satisfy my sexuality.”

So to satisfy her 'sexuality', she did some modeling and then worked as an exotic dancer at a club in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to ......reappearing in public conciousness as the porn starlet 'Aryana Starr' in the 2005 epic 'Big Ass Slumber Party 4' .... she has starred in at least 36 porn movies since then. She has since admitted that if her acting career had survived childhood, she would have been unlikely to have become a porn star.

Stephanie Lynn Nicks aka "Stevie" Nicks from in Phoenix, Arizona USA, and while her family moved with her fathers work, when she received a Goya guitar for her sixteenth birthday, she proceeded to write her first song called "I've Loved and I've Lost. She joined her first band, "The Changing Times", while attending Arcadia High School in Arcadia, California .... she also met her future musical and romantic partner, Lindsey Buckingham, during her senior year at Menlo Atherton High School when she was attending a high school party, and joined in with the harmony when he started playing "California Dreamin'".

With Nicks and Buckingham attending San Jose State University in Northern California they dropped out in 1968 to move to Los Angeles in pursuit of a music career when they formed the 'Fritz Rabyne Memorial Band'. The toured as the opening act from 1968 until 1972, for both Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. After the band split they released the album 'Buckingham Nicks' in 1973. Nicks and Buckingham joined 'Fleetwood Mac' on January 1, 1975 ..... After the success of the 'Rumours album' and tour in 1977 to 1978, they released 'Tusk' Nicks combined a solo career, with a continuing association with 'Fleetwood Mac', which she has continued to this day .....

In January 1986 a plastic surgeon warned Nicks of severe health problems if she did not stop using cocaine. "I said, 'What do you think about my nose?'And he said, 'Well, I think the next time you do a hit of cocaine, you could drop dead." .... At the end of an Australian tour in October 1986, she checked herself into the Betty Ford Center for 30 days to overcome her cocaine addiction.

She also visited a psychiatrist who prescribed the sedative Klonopin to help her remain free from cocaine after fears of a relapse .... The next Mac tour was suspended after Nicks' had a bout of chronic fatigue syndrome and her developing addiction to Klonopin. From August to November 1989 she toured the US and Europe as a solo act, and afterwards she has famously been quoted as stating that she has "no memory of this tour" due to her increasing dependency on the tranquillizer Klonopin which she required to stop her resuming her former abuse of cocaine. This set a pattern ... "Klonopin was worse than the cocaine," she has said. "I lost those 8 years of my life. I didn't write, and I had gained so much weight." ... in 1993 she tackled this with a 47-day detox in a hospital.

Finally, there is the oft repeated tale that hoping to spare her vocal cords from her severe cocaine habit, she got a little help from a coke-straw-bearing groupie who blew it up her backside. She denies this story, but it continues to circulate to this day ..... "Gold Dust Woman" was an autobiographical album, but maybe the phrase "roadie blowing coke up my backside" didn't work

• Her grandfather, Aaron Jess Nicks, was a country music singer, who taught her to sing.
• Nicks had difficulty pronouncing her given name Stephanie when a child, instead pronouncing it "tee-dee", which became the nickname, "Stevie".
• She has started a charity foundation entitled "Stevie Nicks' Band of Soldiers" which is used for the benefit of wounded military personnel.
• Stevie Nicks became an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church World Headquarters of Florida to officiate the wedding of John McCauley and songstress Vanessa Carlton on December 27, 2013.
• Beginning in 2007, reports surfaced concerning Lindsay Lohan's interest in buying the rights to Nicks' life story and developing a motion picture in which she planned to play her. In 2009, she told The New York Times about Lohan, "Over my dead body. She needs to stop doing drugs and get a grip. Then maybe we'll talk." ... which is kinda ironic really.

Aiche Nana (b. Kiash Nanah in Beirut in 1940) was (depending upon which version of her life you read), either Lebanese, or Turkish but born in Lebanon, or Armenian but born in Lebanon .... given later events I favour the Armenian version. Aged 14 she was a 'dancer' in Beirut, but given what that term means in the arab world, she may already have been in France.

By 1956 she was an aspiring actress in Italy (which often meant much the same as the term 'dancer' did in Beirut), where she had a 'belly'dancer' nightclub act, which was described as a "Turkish Belly Dancing" routine. Her first few film roles were a couple of saucy parts as a teenage belly dancer, alongside Omar Sharif in 'The Lebanese Mission', an act she replicated for the Frankie Howerd film 'A Touch of the Sun' ... both in 1956.

She went on to have have a film career of 15 credits, stretching from 1956 to 1985 and she wrote the story 'Edipeon' in which she starred as 'Lola' in the 1970 film. She was married to and divorced from Sergio Pastore who was a film director, screenwriter, journalist, and movie producer.

She died at 'Aurelia' Hospital in Rome at age 77 due to complications of a disease from which she had suffered for a while .... although hardly well known, her death attracted headlines around the globe.

On November night in 1958 in a star packed Trastavere nightclub Rugantino in Rome, the milionaire Peter Howard Vanderbilt, threw a birthday party for Olghina di Robilant, a 24-year-old Venetian countess, and many film stars and aristocrats were there ... it was a wild private party, which was later described as a “torrid cha-cha party”, by one Roman scandal sheet. The Swedish actress Anita Ekberg began dancing barefoot ... but soon she and the others stepped aside, as Aiche Nana (who had gatecrashed the party), replaced her on the dance floor alone.

“I don’t remember inviting you,” observed Olghina as Aiche ran to the dance floor and “started dancing by herself, a thing nobody did”. ... but Ms Nana then proceeded to perfom a strip tease to the beat of a wild tom-tom drum from the musicians of the 'Second Roman New Orleans Jazz Band' playing an eastern rhythm. She ended up writhing on the floor in just her black knickers, while being egged on to go even further by drunken aristocrats.

The 'impromptu' dance was all captured by waiting street photographers, but Police later confiscated the photographers film, but one of them, Tazio Secchiaroli hung on to his pictures (and became the godfather of all 'papperazi', after he was fictionalised as 'Paparazzo' in a Fellini movie), and the pictures were splashed all over the Italian press and saved for posterity .... “La Turca Desnuda” ('The Nude Turk'), was the headline in L’Espresso newspaper the next day, mistaking her nationality.

The result was a massive scandal, with Aiche Nana threatened with deportation - one version says she converted to Catholicisim to help stave this off - but in the end, although the prosecution pressed for four months, she was sentenced to two months' probation for obscene acts in public ... the journalist Sergio Pastore , musicians Sergio Battistelli , Marcello Riccio and Peppino D'Intino, and the Marquis Carlo Durazzo and principles Pier Francesco Borghese and Andrea Hercolani all got the same sentence. The owner of Rugantino's, Mario Crisciotti, was sentenced to pay a fine of three thousand lire ....

In 2010 she tried to sue the Italian broadcaster Rti for ruining her image in a TV film about the notorious events of 1958 but she lost her case.

• Her Italian Stage name 'Aïchè Nana' means “Naked Nana”.
• Two years later, Federico Fellini recalled the whole event in his famous film "La Dolce Vita" (The Sweet Life) .... starring Anita Ekberg.
• The expression 'La Dolce Vita' entered the lexicon around the world to describe the 1960's life in Rome.
• Some Roman citizens detested the film and felt similarly aggrieved towards Fellini, accusing him of blackening the city’s name. “We were furious with him,” recalled Olghina di Robilant, “because it wasn’t a decadent city. Fellini, who comes from Rimini, based the film on gossip... he was like a maid looking through the keyhole.”

Jodie Sweetin started her career as a four-year-old, appearing in a hot dog commercial. Her childhood career started full time with the part of 'Stephanie Tanner' in the comedy show 'Full House' in 1987 and she was on the show until its end in 1995. She worked throughout her school years, graduating from Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California in 1999, when she then attended Chapman University in Orange, California. She has married and divorced three times, with three children. She is apparently studying to become a teacher, and says she would like to work as a set tutor on television shows and films.

Its fair to say that since 1995 she has found finding another successful role difficult .... She has hosted the second season of the Fuse TV show 'Pants-Off Dance-Off' and starred in a TV pilot, 'Small Bits of Happiness', a dark comedy and appeared in other TV shows. In 2009 she tried independent films, and appeared in two films: 'Port City' and 'Redefining Love'. Then in 2011, in a new one to me, she appeared in five 'webisodes' of the internet show 'Can't Get Arrested' and in 2012, she appeared as Leia in the TV film 'Singled Out'. 2013 saw one credit for a role in 'Defending Santa', and she is currently filming 'Walt Before Mickey'.

After the end of Full House she began using methamphetamine, apparently because she was "bored" and this swiftly became a spiral of alcohol and drug abuse ... perhaps the nadir was when she broke down in tears while giving a public speech at a campus on 'growing up in television' and about how much her life had improved since getting sober - this after a two-day bender of methamphetamine, cocaine and ecstasy. She is now a self declared recovering drug addict.

• 'Small Bits of Happiness', a dark comedy won Best Comedy at the 3rd Annual Independent Television Festival, in Los Angeles.
• Had a Lhasa Apso named Lacey, whom she received as a gift from the producers of a Sizzler commercial she appeared in as a toddler.
• Appeared in the 1993 Disney Easter Parade dressed as Cinderella along with TV sister Mary-Kate Olsen, who was dressed as Snow White.
• Has stated that she is adopted, and that her biological family has a history of addictions.

Doria Tillier is a French model, actress and TV weather girl .... she started as a model but then starred in both short films and full length movies such as the 2008 thriller 'Bloody Flowers', with Amanda Lear. She also did a few TV commercials before moving on to TV acting, where she starred in the series 'Action Force Customs', on the France 2 channel. She then moved to Canal+ in August 2012, where she is the "Miss Weather" for the news show 'the Grand Journal Canal+'..... she is also a fan of football and the French national side ....

In November 2013 she vowed to take her clothes off should France pull off a remarkable comeback from 2-0 down against Ukraine, in their World Cup play-off match .... she felt they had no chance, as no team had overturned such a margin in the world cup play-offs. She was clearly getting worried during the game, as after France scored their second goal to draw level, she tweeted: 'Fuck. 2-0 for France. I'm starting to stress.' .... They did it, by winning 3 nil to qualify! So true to her word, she presented the weather naked on the show. She went to the tiny hamlet of 'Poil' (which tranlates as 'stark naked', or 'in the nude' in English), where she streaked across a field stark naked ... but filmed from long distance.

Geraldine Fitzgerald appeared opposite Orson Welles in 1938. Sir Michael Edward Lindsay-Hogg, 5th Baronet was born in May 5, 1940 in New York, and although a DNA test was inconclusive, it was later 'confirmed' by his mother's friend 'Gloria Vanderbilt', that she believed that Welles was his father. There was no evidence of this even though it was included in Lindsay-Hogg's memoir, 'Luck and Circumstance: A Coming of Age in Hollywood, New York, and Points Beyond', which was published in the fall of 2011.

But, and this is the point for this thread, this was still only hearsay, as the DNA test came up with no result .... and now it will never be proved. So its a claim backed only by the word of an elderly Gloria Vanderbilt, decades after the events. The BBC obituary didn't include this gossip.

Lauren Chapin, was born in Los Angeles, California, but sadly in to a dysfunctional family .... she later claimed her father was allegedly sexuallly abusing her for a number of years, which if true, maybe explains stories that her mother was battling alcoholism. Perhaps her only escape was the fact that she was a child actress with a role as the youngest child "Kathy Anderson" (nicknamed "Kitten") in the television show 'Father Knows Best', which was produced between 1954 and 1960 (an era that was probably the golden age of US TV, with 'movie stars' taking roles e.g the adult star of the show was a rather old Robert Young). After the show ended she married and then divorced with two children, one of whom also became an actress ...

She attempted an adult film career with a few movie roles: 'When Sex Was a Knightly Affair' in 1976, 'The Father Knows Best Reunion (TV Movie)' and 'Father Knows Best: Home for Christmas (TV Movie)' both of 1977, and 'Scout's Honor (TV Movie)' in 1980 .... but that was pretty much it.

In later life Chapin turned to religion and is a licensed and ordained Christian evangelist and advocate for Israel and is the co-author of 'Father Does Know Best—The Lauren Chapin Story (1988)'. She also currently manages singers and actors, while also and performing in a live inter-active version of 'Father Knows Best' designed for cruise liners, conventions, and other events ..... not that she milks the 'Father Knows Best' connection ... much!

From the moment when 'Father Knows Best' was cancelled her life spiralled out of control ... possibly to escape her father and mother, aged 16 she married. Perhaps unsurprisingly she was also divorced at age 18. She then turned to drugs in the counter culture US of the 60's and 70's (Haight-Ashbury), and soon progressed to hard drugs, a habit which she supported by becoming a prostitute. Finally after a number of troubled years she attempted to take her own life, and was committed to a mental institution. It was then that she turned to religion in 1979, a move which she credits with saving her life .... And according to at least one report, she also had 8 miscarraiges, lived off welfare, and spent time in prison during these years ...

Rebecca Gayheart was raised in Pine Top, Kentucky USA of Irish, Italian, and German descent. At age 15 she moved to New York City and completed her education at New York's Professional Children's School and the Lee Strasberg Institute. Her first role was in the short film "Whatever Happened to Mason Reese?" in 1990. She then did a series of TV commercials for 'Noxzema' in the early 1990s, and this brought her first major role in the TV soap opera 'Loving' in 1992.

This was followed by a series of recurring roles in the 1990's in shows such as 'Vanishing Son', science fiction series 'Earth 2', and 'Beverly Hills, 90210', 'Wasteland', 'Dead Like Me', Vanished, and 'Nip/Tuck'. TV Work has been a little scarcer in recent years but she guest-starred on an episode of 'Ugly Betty' in 2007. She has also been a number of films as well as her TV work.

She also appeared in music video's such as 'Nuttin' But Love' by 'Heavy D and the Boyz', and the 'Train' music video for the 1999 song "Meet Virginia". She has also been on Broadway with starred in the comedy, 'Boeing-Boeing'. In 2004 she married actor Eric Dane after a ten months later romance and they have two daughters.

In June 2001, she was the driver of a vehicle which struck nine-year-old boy as he walked across a street in Los Angeles. He died the following day from his injuries. In November 2001, she pleaded 'no contest' to 'vehicular manslaughter'. She was sentenced to three years of probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine and 750 hours of community service ... which seems rather light.

In August 2009, a 'nude video' was posted on a website that showed Eric Dane, herself and former Miss Teen USA contestant (and a post on this thread) Kari Ann Peniche romping ... no sex was portrayed.

Trivia:

• Her series of TV commercials for Noxzema in the early 1990s, earned her the moniker "The Noxzema Girl". This was also referred to at the end of the film 'Urban Legend', when one of the new college students remarks, "And Brenda [Gayheart's character] was the Noxzema Girl.".
• She was initially hired to play the part of 'Inara Serra' in the excellent 2002 series 'Firefly', but was dropped after only one day of filming. None of Gayheart's scenes were used.
• Gayheart was engaged to director Brett Ratner before marrying actor Eric Dane in 2004.

Lisa Loring (b. Lisa Ann DeCinces) was born in Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands to US Navy parents who divorced. She grew up in Hawaii and later moved to Los Angeles with her mother who later died of alcoholism. She took the usual route to stardom and began modelling at age three and appeared in an episode of TV show 'Dr. Kildare' in 1964. This led to her playing 'Wednesday Addams' on the 1964-66 sitcom 'The Addams Family' (I thought it ran longer than that!), and a role in the ABC sitcom 'The Pruitts of Southampton' in 1966.

Her adult career was less successful, she was a cast member of the CBS TV soap opera 'As the World Turns' from 1981 to 1983, as 'Cricket Montgomery. She worked spasmodically in the 1980's and 90's and recently has had a couple of small roles .... she fills in as a makeup artist where she can, but works in Public Relations for a Hotel Chain, with additional appearances at horror conventions.

She married her childhood sweetheart and had a daughter at the age of 16, and then remarried two more times and had another child.

Her third husband was a pornographic actor who used the stage name 'Jerry Butler', and who she had met on the set of the 1987 adult film, 'Traci's Big Trick', where she was working as a make-up artist. After their marriage, he continued to work as a porn star .... but secretly without her knowledge. The couple later appeared on TV, shows discussing the damage Butler's porn career was causing to their marriage and eventually divorced in 1992, when oddly he then quit the porn industry.

By her 30's, she had developed a heroin addiction from which she was eventually declared as 'recovering' in the 1990's.
