Default USB Record players

I really had no idea where to put this thread or even whether to post it or not, but i decided to post just in case others may also find it useful.

I'm thinking of getting one of those USB connected Record Players but I have no idea which ones are good or bad. I've looked at reviews online etc. but I was wondering if anyone here has got one or knows anything about them?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Save your money if it is quality of sound you are after. The soundcard in one of those is about 75pence.The stylus has the quality of the worst record player from the 60's. The massive upside is their sheer convenience.
Depending on budget, sound quality, and the inconvenience factor a record deck connected to even the cheapest DAC (digital analogue converter) would give a superior sound.
Sorry I am unable to answer your original question

Thanks for the info vo1v0d.

Unfortunately I have nowhere to leave it set up. If I put it on top of my "boombox" (a rather large one) but I'd have to put it on my bed if I wanted to listen to a CD. I do have a table it could've gone on had I not filled it with two large LP cases, two food-cooler thingies with CDs in them, a plastic CD case with CDs in and a plastic tray with some music cassettes in it. It could've gone on top of my metal filing cabinet, but my (soon to be replaced) broken Printer is on it.

Whereas a portable USB record player could live on the floor somewhere (maybe) then I could put it on my bed within about two feet of the USB socket on my PC.

Understood perfectly. it is called 'being a bloke'. Gotcha. the solution is to go on amazon initially and read the reviews. Not the five star one (fake, mostly). Check the low stars because that might point out a drawback that you might not have envisioned.
Good hunting.
(I should have disqualified myself from this because last year I sold three Shure cartridges with unused styli for £150)

vo1v0d, thanks for the suggestion. I've been doing the same with camera backpacks. Trouble is, if you only read the 1 and 2 star reviews, you'll never buy anything, so you have read the 3 and 4 star ones as well, and there can be hundreds of reviews to read so you get bored and end up not buying anything anyway, lol.
