Your right. The t.v.shows that are being made in the U.S. are pretty awful now. It is as if the writers have run out of ideas. In the past there was a lot of experimentation. We had western shows, mystery shows, police/crime/detective shows , horror shows, science fiction shows, game shows, dozens of comedy and what we call sitcoms which is a type of family comedy show. Now we have none of this. I don't watch regular t.v. anymore. I just watch my favorite t.v. shows that I have on disc. I have 29 complete t.v. shows on DVD.

I really enjoy "Nightwatch" on A&E. It's reality TV about first responders in New Orleans, paramedics, fire and police departments. Mostly they focus on the paramedics & I come away with my faith in humanity restored. The bummer is they've only done 2 seasons of 10 shows each.

I also enjoy "48 Hours" on the same network that features real homicide investigations from around the country. It is amazing to watch people who've been identified by multiple witnesses, captured on video tape, found in possession of the murder weapon, and even been identified by DNA evidence deny even being present. There are some nasty people that you are glad to see taken off the street. Not all the murders are solved. The variability of sentences is weird, too. Some folks get life for what seems to be an impulsive act, while others get a light sentence for crimes that seem truly horrible.

It has been years since I followed a regular network show, other than "Game of Thrones" and a couple of other HBO productions. GOT has been a reminder of the sheer brutality of the Middle Ages. We really are a nasty and vicious species. Maybe the mass extinction event which is currently underway is a very good thing for the planet.

You left out one key part. Please remember that you have to rip off the bank's customers (and the general public) to the tunes of billions of dollars.

Some of us on this side of the pond have just started referring to these people as "banksters". Seems about right to me.

We built the greatest standard of living ever conceived of without having our lips firmly attached to everyones butt. The people who contributed the least are now making the rules and rule number one is you can't tell them they are useless non-contributors. I miss being able to call a spade a spade. Now I have to call it a work saving soil moving enabler.

People commiting suicide because they are unable to pay their bedroom tax? More property shows then.
Antiques lost 75 per cent of their value. Show oldies to depress people who bought when prices were high and dont tell them the stuff has died on its arse since the program was made
