Does anyone know of a software for extracting RARs and ZIPs that let's you keep a list of passwords, which are automatically chosen, when a passworded archive is to be extracted?

astrax, jdownloader does it for rar-files. zip is still on the wishlist, maybe it will happen some day.
anyways, jdownloader is the best tool to manage your downloads from filehosts like rapidshare, megaupload, depositfiles, fileserve, (...). a must have. don't forget to connect it with flashgot plugin if you are on firefox. |

thanks for your suggestion - I already use jdownloader, but only for downloading files. I just don't like "autoextracting" files which I haven't checked beforehand. and I don't think it's possible to extract already d/l files with it, or is it?
I looked a bit further and there is a program called Unrarit, which basically does, what I was looking for. but unfortunately it doesn't really run smooth on WIN7 (some files are extracted, with others I get CRC errors for no reason...) and it seems it's not being supported or updated anymore. and btw: the Flashgot plugin doesn't (yet) work with FF 5. well I guess, I keep looking |

How to use Imagehost Filegrabber in Firefox 4+
Quote:
Simply install Mozilla Add-On Compatibility Reporter at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...orter/?src=api It's actually a debug tool aimed to report Mozilla add-ons compatibility issues, and it will disable compatiblity check at install & run times. Most of the times the add-ons are still fully usable, the incompatibility simply arises because they were developed before a new version of firefox was released and they declare compatibility only up to known version at time of development. In the particular case of Filegrabber I'm using it without any problems |

You just have to download the most current version, for some reason Firefox doesn't point to it very promptly, there's a lag before the Mozilla guys get it linked on the website. You'll always find the most current version here: Code:

http://www.virtualdub.org/index.html download it here: http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ check documentations here: http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_docs.html i recommend to install K-Lite Codec Pack (to gain specific codecs), make yourself familiar with ffdshow and also install some plugins (wmvplugin, directshow, quicktime) to make Virtual Dub compatible with WMV and Apple Quicktime Formats (.mov, .mp4). Virtual Dub is not easy to use for beginners, but trying to learn the basics (check vdub docu) is worth the effort. Imho best editing tool you can get for free. |
