My pet peeve: Actresses who won't do nudity. - Page 4

I once brought this subject up regarding my displeasure of actresses who refuse to do nude scenes in movies and the use of body doubles, sexual scenes or otherwise, on another forum thread and I practically got my ass reamed out sideways by a number of members who disagreed with me!

It is my feeling and contention that movie stars, whether they be male or female, get paid very big bucks for their appearances in movies, and I don't believe that it is asking too much that they do their own nudity in the film. Most actually will get compensated extra and quite handsomely when nudity is required of them in a movie. The body double does all the "dirty work" and the actress gets all the accolades! If an actor/actress is offered a movie role knowing that nudity will be required and are unwilling, uncomfortable, or refuse to comply, then they should not take the role or do the movie.

I agree with the many comments that love scenes/sex scenes in movies have become so fake, untrue-to-life, and ridiculous looking these days ... being wrapped up in the sheets like mummies while presumingly making love!
They will spend millions of dollars to film/produce a movie in attempting to make it true-to-life, then ruin it with ridiculous and fake-looking love scenes, obvious body doubles, and overlooking some obvious details.
One such detail that has bugged me for years is when, let's say a man and woman are stranded some place for days/weeks/months and the woman's underarm or leg hair never grows! I suppose she has her Lady Schick battery-powered razor handy in her purse/pocket ... and often times the man's facial hair does not grow as well -- he must have borrowed her Lady Schick!

I think Hollywood spends far too much money and concentrates far more on some of those really absurd-looking and totally unbelievable stunts and special effects (which makes for another good topic), than concentrating and paying attention to some of those smaller details which provides more realism to a movie.

Just a wild hunch, but perhaps 10-20 years later, and seeing what actresses/actors get paid these days, they more than likely shot her a figure that she couldn't refuse -- especially more so if it happens to be an actress/actor who has not received many movie/part offers during that time period. That old saying "money talks" is often very true, and when the price is right it will often rid some actresses/actors of their inhibitions and ideals rather quickly.

I adore Aniston but she's becoming a complete fucker for this kind of thing. Early reports saying that her long-awaited scene in Wanderlust will be predominantly CGI'd in, including nips.

Couldn't agree more - but it's not going to happen.

Also I suspect most of us couldn't give a damn about the plot as long as they their tits out.

You know, if it wasn't bad enough actresses not baring the goods in roles that practically demand it, we now have the advent of the CGI nips and arses.

I know it only really applies to big budget films that cast perennial teasers but when the technology is getting so good you can't tell the difference (Alba fake shower scene) and only find out in the DVD extras or when someone lets it slip in an interview its enough to make you give up.

You could always spot a body double because of the way the film is edited but those days appear to be over, the day of the CGI body double is here.

You can't blame Elizabeth Banks for this one. She reportedly agreed to strip and it was Kevin Smith who decided to keep her clothed. For that, I hate him.

Great thread, agree with pretty much every comment so far

I'd add Natalie Portman to the teaser list for the nude scenes filmed during Closer that got destroyed, and for describing her sex scene with Mila Kunis in Black Swan as "It's not raunchy, it's extreme". My idea of 'extreme' involves dwarves, live animals and hot wax, not something my dear departed grandmother would find tame.

Regarding nipple-covering and sheet-taking, maybe that's not so untrue to real life all the time. I had an ex who hated exposing her nipples during sex or at any other time because they were (very slightly) hairy... my assurances that it was okay, mine are too, didn't help for some reason. Many years ago I also had a drunken one-night fling with a Scots girl who was, for want of a better phrase, morbidly obese. I was quite glad when she took the sheet with her when she got up the next morning.
