Police arrested Irish teacher Enoch Burke this week for a third time since he first criticized his school two years ago for pushing transgender ideology.

On Monday, Ireland’s National Police An Garda Síochána arrested Burke outside Wilson's Hospital School in County Westmeath, where he previously worked as a history and German teacher, and later transported him to Mountjoy Prison, a Dublin men’s jail.

Burke’s X account, currently run by his brother Josiah, later posted footage of the arrest.

Female darts players have been warned they face disciplinary action if they withdraw from matches against transgender players.

British female darts star Deta Hedman has twice withdrawn from competitions in recent months when drawn to face transgender opponents.

The World Darts Federation has now issued a statement warning players could be disciplined, claiming they are protecting the 'integrity of the game'.

'Ahead of an important period in the WDF calendar with regional cups, the World Masters and the World Championships, the WDF wishes to clarify its position on player withdrawals,' a statement read.

'Once the first dart has been thrown in a tournament, any player that subsequently withdraws from playing a match may be considered to be bringing the game into disrepute and could face disciplinary action.

'This stance has been taken to suitably protect our Member Countries, their tournaments and tournament sponsors, as well as to preserve the integrity of the WDF ranking system.'

Hedman, 64, a three-time World Championship finalist, hit the headlines in May when she forfeited a match at the Denmark Open after refusing to take to the oche to face trans player Noa-Lynn van Leuven.

She defended her decision by telling German outlet Bild: 'I'm not playing against a man in a women's event'.

Hedman, month withdrew from the 'The Heart of Darts' women's singles tournament, run by the United Kingdom Darts Association.

After winning her opening two matches of the tournament - against Patricia Roberts and Barbara Legge - she was matched up to face Sam Lewis and then withdrew.

The World Darts Federation warning comes despite Hedman serving as the chair of the organisation's Athletes' Commission.

Last week, Hedman shared a post encouraging fellow players to sign a petition to support ensuring the women's category is restricted to players who were born female.

'Women and girls deserve fair competition in darts, and this means we need our own category, restricted to those born female,' a letter read.

'This is covered by fairness in the 2010 equality act. If you agree to this could you sign this petition and supply your email address. The email address is purely to send you a short online survey on this subject, and will not be used for any other purpose.

'We believe a women's section in darts is hugely important for the growth of darts.

'Athletes Commission are fully supportive of transgender and non binary players inclusion in darts in open or other categories.'

Hedman has been a vocal critic of rules allowing transgender women to compete in women's tournaments, after pulling out of her match against van Leuven.

In a lengthy statement posted on Facebook, Hedman previously explained her stance on trans players, writing: 'I have no issues with Trans but they should play in an open section IMO.

'I questioned why it is that the rule makers in IOC, WDF and DRA are predominantly men, they totally disregard the many and varied problems unique to women, menstrual, peri menopause, fibroids, Endometriosis, with symptoms varying from stomach cramps, brain fog, bleeding, headaches/migraine, hot intense flushes etc.

'All these problems are ignored, and considered that they don't affect your performance in a precision sport like darts.

'Add to that the ridiculous testosterone levels set for a trans to play in Women's darts! If they achieve a level of 9.9mnol/L they can play, the normal range of women is between 0.5-2.4mnol/L, I myself have tested at 1.2.

'To make this even more ridiculous 5 African women born with Vaginas but had varied organs including inner testicles were banned from sport as their testosterone levels were too high , they were told they had to reduce their levels not to 10mnol/L ( the level a trans can compete in sport) but to 5mnol/L , so athletes born as a woman to compete had to be half the level of a biological male who would compete in women's sports.

'All I want is to compete in darts on a fair and level playing field. As been stated by many studies around the world you can have inclusivity in women's sport or you can have fairness in Women's sports ! YOU CANNOT HAVE BOTH.

'Why don't the WDF and DRA as a compromise drop the testosterone limit to the above high end of Women and set it as 3mnol/L, they would still have the skeletal advantages of going through puberty as a Male but at least their levels would be at a similar level to some of the women.'

March saw Dutch competitors Anca Zijlstra and Aileen de Graaf quit their national team in protest after van Leuven claimed her first PDC Tour win in Wigan, but Hedman was keen to underscore that she has believed in this issue for some time, adding that claims her campaign was tied to van Leuven's success were 'b***s***'.

Hedman has frequently underlined that she does not support personal attacks against van Leuven or any trans athletes.

Women whose husbands came out as transgender during their marriages have spoken about their heartbreak and opened up about alleged abuse they suffered at the hands of their partners when they struggled to accept their new gender identities.

Behind The Looking Glass, a documentary by Lime Soda Films, claims to be the first deep dive into the stories of 'trans widows' - women who have split, or want to split, from their male transitioning partners.

In the film, the women say they are forgotten victims of domestic abuse and reveal that their partners were often unfaithful and took advantage of them financially.

The women explain that while their partners received therapy and support through their transition, they themselves were left without access to the same resources.

'It often feels though that our stories are just whispers in a storm,' confessed one widow, who chose to keep her identity hidden.

Behind The Looking Glass tells the stories of 18 women and explores the impact of the partner's transitioning on their wives and children.

Most of the women chose to remain anonymous, sharing their real voices but using a cartoon alias to protect their identity.

One woman named Ginny revealed how she is now reduced to a 'blubbering mess' when she speaks about how her husband, with whom she has four children, revealed they wanted to transition.

She is now part of a support group after her experience co-parenting with her husband.

She said that for a period of four years, she would have the children for three weeks, while her partner only had them for one.

She said her partner was 'living like a single person' while she tried to cover two rents at once and was 'broke'.

Others spoke of the abuse they received during the transitioning process, particularly if they didn't 'affirm' their partner's new identity.

Julietta said: 'It didn't take me long to end the marriage, especially after Jack physically assaulted me for not affirming him. My son and I moved out of the family home and couch surfed for a few months.'

As well as physical assaults, there was emotional manipulation. One woman, known as Dinah in the documentary, said she 'knew' she was 'being cheated on' throughout the transition process.

Julietta said: 'Over time he had me convinced I was mentally unstable and too far damaged to be fixed. It took me months after the separation to see that this was mental and emotional abuse.'

While Julietta has a Domestic Violence Order against her ex due to the physical assault, the ex is still allowed contact with their child.

Meanwhile Angela said her partner began stealing her journals, meaning she began to lose her 'grounding' on reality.

Her partner would then tell her falsehoods, and she had no concrete proof they weren't true, meaning she was 'manipulated more and more'.

Another, Marigold, said the abuse even began extending to their children. She said: 'He would get home and he would just start yelling for hours, about all the ways I failed him.

'And then it got to the point where if the kids touched something, he would take their hand and smack it on the table. He blamed me and said my lack of good parenting has forced him to take more action.'

Marigold claimed her partner told her that she must identify as bisexual if she wanted them to stay together, despite her protesting she is a straight woman.

Her partner then told her they had taken strong painkillers (which she had been prescribed but never took) before the couple had sex, saying they had to be in an 'altered state of mind' in order to be intimate with her.

Marigold continued: 'I felt like a body, like it didn't matter who I was in bed. He was like a different person to have sex with, he was a stranger.

'And I would ask him to stop and he would not stop, or he would want to do something that was painful to me and he didn't seem to care.'

As well as the emotional turmoil caused by the transition process, the group of 'trans widows' also shed light on the financial impact it had on them.

Julietta said her partner 'drained' her accounts with his 'erratic spending' during those years.

Uno says her husband was unemployed when he came to live with her in Tokyo, having quit his job.

Uno was forced to pay both of their rents and, though her husband picked up some sporadic part-time work, he said he couldn't find full-time employment unless it was 'as a woman'.

'I had to stop working because of stress,' she said, adding that her severance pay quickly vanished with two of them living off it. 'He told me over and over he was not going to return the money he owed me.'

While the husbands apparently received focused therapy and support to deal with the change of transitioning, their wives were left with almost no support - even while a fundamental aspect of their marriage was changing.

Julietta said she and her husband tried both couples and individual therapy, but she was expected to simply apply an attitude of 'acceptance' and 'tolerance', while her own individual feelings were not 'affirmed'.

Shannon, another trans widow, said: 'In a marriage, where a man started to use drugs or cheated on you, you would find therapists and support groups and other women who would say this is not your fault, but on this topic people are very quick to question whether or not you responded to it correctly.’

Lime Soda Films, which made the documentary, is led by Vaishnavi Sundar, an Indian filmmaker who describes herself as a 'radical feminist'.

A biography on her website reads: 'I put women first in every project I pursue.'

In a clip on the Lime Soda Films YouTube channel, Sundar reveals it took her three years to make Behind the Looking Glass, which she began researching towards the end of 2021.

She says she intends for her film to 'combat relentless misogyny' in what she describes as a 'first of its kind' story.

Female darts players have been threatened with disciplinary action if they refuse to play transgender opponents.

Almost four months after a British female player forfeited a match against a trans woman at a World Darts Federation event, the governing body has begun a controversial crackdown on such protests.

Ahead of announcing the provisional fields for this year’s World Championship, the WDF said in a statement: “The WDF wishes to clarify its position on player withdrawals.

“Once the first dart has been thrown in a tournament, any player that subsequently withdraws from playing a match may be considered to be bringing the game into disrepute and could face disciplinary action.

“This stance has been taken to suitably protect our member countries, their tournaments and tournament sponsors, as well as to preserve the integrity of the WDF ranking system.”

This is an ongoing saga. He's not arrested for calling the trans student by the accurate pronoun. He's arrested for violating a court order saying "you were fired, mate. You have no business hanging out at the school anymore. Feck off"
