Based on this, I watched the first episode on 'ITV Player' - whatever that is - and still available there for the next three weeks, if you want to catch up ahead of the second one tomorrow. It's the story of Russian 'sleepers', deep-cover spies in 1980s America. So far, a bit like Homeland in the way that the larger political game plays out in domestic deceptions. A very promising start to the series anyway, once you get past the confusing opening sequence. Plus, a nostalgic Eighties soundtrack.

Playing catch up with an oldie I'd never seen before, another DC comics inspired series
Birds of Prey (2002–2003) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312098/ Ashley Scott as Huntress, Dina Meyer as Oracle and Rachel Skarsten as Dinah fight crime in Gotham City whilst Dr Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn (Mia Sara) lords it over Arkham Asylum. Great fun and amazing it has not seen a UK DVD release. |

Rake. An Australian dramedy about a dissolute lawyer. Brilliant stuff.

1. Me TV died in 2001 (At home RIP)
2. My partner stated that I only watched TV at hers anyway - and that was only News & Footie & Docs 3. Didn't get a new TV for myself - but it took me till 2003 to realise I was still payin DD for my licence fee...never got it back tho' 4. I can see what I need to see online - Txt/ Digital newspapers - from around the world. Blogs (political and footie). 5. Don't need to watch soaps, from Corrie/Eastenders to GOT/Spartacus etc 6. VERY HAPPY. I read more, buy more books, visit the library more . . . 10. I know this is not an alternative for yoiuger people, with kids and so on, and not an alternative for anyone who wants promotion (to say they don't have TV - or watch it - -but there you go---) In conclusion. I don't need TV. I do need the internet! I don't want to waste hours of every day watching puerile acting and fantasy stories. Not when 5,000 children will die of hunger - EVERY DAY - on this planet I don't need nor want GOT or Corrie..... ...Who Would ? |

Flipping thru the channels today I saw something wonderful. Presumably a movie, I don't know, I don't care, because it had to be the best, happiest movie ending that will ever be made.
I saw Will Ferrel pole-vault himself down a T-Rex's throat. .... So wonderful.

Just starting to watch the last episode of Hannibal.
Didn't think it would catch on as Dexter did but it is good viewing although with some suitably disturbing scenes as befits the subject matter. It's interesting to see the relationship between Will Graham and Hannibal prior to Manhunter (Red Dragon) The ending has to be a shocker |

I belatedly watched an episode of "Hannibal,I enjoyed it ,nicely dark and gruesome, the only thought I had is that Mads Mikkelson always looks like He's up to something with that permanent half smile,How's He got got away with serial culinary murder for so long...

This is basically what I do when I'm waiting around at airports for delayed flights. I watch Netflix on my phone or laptop. I swear NF is the best thing since YouTube. I definitely get my money's worth.
Just finished watching the entire series of The Borgias. Great show but kind of an abrupt finale. Fans are clamoring for a fourth season but creator Neal Jordan lost interest and wanted to move on to other things. Just as well. I loved the show but much of it is historically-inaccurate. Hell on Wheels: A former confederate soldier and slave owner joins the building of a railroad, working alongside union soldiers & northerners, former slaves and immigrants, while tracking down his wife's killers. I just started watching this on Netfix. Interesting characters. Not your typical western. Lots of shades of gray in all of the characters' motives and actions. Me likee. Fringe: A genius scientist and his reluctant son are recruited as consultants by the FBI to help investigate a series of strange phenomena. Very much like the X-Files but with more emphasis on theoretical and hypothetical but fictional science. It's ok. Doesn't hold my interest as much as XF did. Or maybe I've either outgrown this type of show or I'm too biased. Has a continuing story arc that feeds through each episode. Netflix. Continuum: A female cop from 2077 gets caught in a time warp created by convicted death-row anti-government terrorists who intend to go back to 2012 to alter the past using their knowledge of the future including executing ancestors of their enemies. Typical SyFy series. So-so. Orange is the New Black: An upper middle class woman gets a 16 month prison sentence for smuggling drug money for her lesbian lover. Great show, great cast and lots of interesting characters. Based on a true story. Netlix series. Breaking Bad: Yaaaaaay!! Im so glad this is back on. I have to wait until it airs each Sunday so I can download it on Monday morning on iTunes since I don't have cable but it's worth it. Down to its last four episodes of the series now. Each episode is getting deeper and more intense. Malcolm's dad is rotten motherfucker. |
