Some Diana, Princess of Wales pictures..

I always did and still cherish Jill's memory. Jill Dando was Princess Diana without the baggage. Speaking of whom my favourite author Bill Bryson once met Di. He was cycling with his kids on a single track road in some Royal park or other. She was following them (in a non-stalker fashion;o). slowly in her car, presumably patiently waiting for them to notice and to move off the road so she could pass. An exchange of warm smiles and bicycle manoeuvring took place and she was on her way.

That was my recollection of his words but my own opinion is:

Sad little tale. A very family oriented woman and given this world of plenty we find ourselves in what could she provide that was in any way better for her kids. That's what I guess was one of the things going through her mind at the time. Another guess is she was taking a moment to vicariously enjoy Bill's family scene. I wonder how long she was following.

Let us tale a moment to think of why we are all at this forum. We are looking for things that are at least--in someone's mind--slightly naughty.

What is there to be guilty about? We are here enjoying (I hope) our guilty pleasures, sharing our thoughts, and searching for what pleases us. What's not to like?!? Chances are that someone will eventually start a thread about sexy elbows 'cause that's what they fancy--we already have many threads about software, movies, food, knickers, and furniture.

Why is there someone we should not fancy who is a consenting adult?

Would it be "appropriate" for me to suggest that I fancy knees, or Queen Vic, or Marie Curie in this thread but nowhere else in VEF? How about the Pope? I bet that if someone had a real and slightly risque pic of Mother Theresa it would already be posted somewhere here ... and the poster would be thanked!

Why should any of us follow stupid stereotypes here? We just have to listen to others here to find people who agree and disagree with what we like now.

Our pandering to this "really shouldn't fancy" idea demeans us all just a little bit. I bet Maggie Thatcher appreciates knowing someone would like to see her ... elbows!

Oh I don't know. Within limits of personal damage, hygiene and the law guilty pleasures can be such fun.

I owe a debt of gratitude to all superstitions, religions and traditions who make some aspects of hedonism "off limits" and a cause for feeling extra naughty.
