Adrienne Barbeau posed nude. I forgot she was nude in Swamp Thing, so to be reminded of that and be informed of her being nude a lot in her younger years...damn, I'm going to be busy tonight. This is my new favorite link.

Being in between Power Rangers seasons, and loving one of the Rangers from the season I just finished, I decided to watch 6 episodes of Charlie Sheen's Anger Management. The actress, Anna Hutchison, who was the Yellow Ranger on Power Rangers Jungle Fury, appeared in 6 episodes of that show. I spent today watching it, and it was not pleasant. A lot of sexism, Hutchison's character Sasha comes in as an escort at first. Her first scene, she walks up to Sheen and wants to fuck him, there's a bit of a story behind it, but it doesn't change the fact that she's poorly written.

It was nice to see her though, she shows she can pull off an American accent really well, being from Australia. Every woman on that show is poorly written, whether they are bitches, whores, sexually frustrated, nags, no woman is really likable. The ratio of man to woman is crazy, but credit to them for having a gay actor play a gay person, despite him being stereotyped.

Martin Sheen appeared in a couple episodes, only one in my viewing, as Charlie's dad, he provided one of the few laughs. On the last episode with Sasha in it, her brother is introduced. His name was Dex. "It's sex with a big D." That was funny! It wasn't a painful watch, I wasn't annoyed apart from the sexism, just not amused. Charlie Sheen looked awful, the drugs really ravaged him, all the obvious make-up in the world couldn't hide that, especially with that show being in HD.

I never watched 2 and 1/2 Men, don't really want to. Sheen can be entertaining, but I find that to be the case in his 80s movies and him outside of TV and movies in the current century. I probably would've had more fun watching Spartacus. She's on that and gets naked. She dresses sexy here, but it wasn't enough. I saw Cabin in the Woods a couple years ago, probably should've re-watched that.

Fun facts about the show. It lasted 2 1/2 years, and Sheen was famously in 2 and 1/2 men. Ha! The first season was 10 episodes, but after it got green-lit for a second season, they shot 90 episodes. The reason being so that they'd hit the magic 100 episode mark, and allow the show to be released in syndication, creating an ongoing income stream for everyone involved. Apparently according to court documents related to Sheen's divorce from Denise Richards, the judge recommended Sheen to take an anger management class. It's unknown if he ever complied. Funny because he's not angry in this a lot, he just plays himself minus the anger, just all cool and whatnot. Some of the side characters get angry, Martin Sheen included, but not him. Michael Arden, who played the gay guy Patrick, had a love interest in 2 episodes of the show. The actor who played that love interest, Andy Mientus, is his husband, been married 2 years now. Noureen DeWulf, who played chauvinistically written girl Lacey, was pregnant during the end of filming, which is why there were plots surrounding her baby bump. I think I saw one of them, in a Christmas episode where she ends up giving birth to a Mexican baby Jesus paper mache thing (it sounds more funny on paper), and you can see the baby bump there.

That's all I could stand of Charlie Sheen sitcoms, unless there's another Power Rangers alum that was in any of his shows, I'm not going to bother watching any more of that stuff. Here's a shot of Anna Hutchison in the show, this particular episode, her last in the series where they get married while under the influence in Vegas, you can tell how tall she is compared to Sheen. Heels helped, but to be almost his height with them on, kind of makes Sheen a short man.

Cinemassacre put out a video on Street Fighter, the 1994 movie, today. One of the guys mentioned a "recent article" that talked about the production of the movie, and how disastrous it was. Through some searching, I found that article.

https://www.theguardian.com/games/20...-kylie-minogue

It's very informative and puts into perspective how much the movie was a disaster not only on camera, but behind it. Some things I already know, Jean-Claude Van Damme's cocaine addiction, him having an affair with Kylie Minogue, Raul Julia suffering from stomach cancer during production.

What I didn't know was how much of a burden JCVD was, on Mondays not even showing up to set, and delaying production, his reasoning being so he can work on his muscles. Steven E. De Souza, who wrote Die Hard 1 and 2, Commando, other great action movies, wanted to stick with 7 characters but Capcom forced him to use all the characters from Super Street Fighter 2, which was about 16. They wanted Kenya Sawada to play Ryu, but De Souza already had Byron Mann cast, and Mann could speak perfect English, Sawada couldn't speak any. So he wrote in a small role for him, Captain Sawada. Capcom was keen on Sawada because he played Ryu in the commercials advertising the Street Fighter 2 game, natural fit, right? Wrong.

Ming Na Wen (Chun Li) was in that article, and she claimed all the guys were wussies, and how he was teasing one particular guy, making him cry. I think that was Damian Chapa (Ken), since he had no muscle on him, didn't look good fighting, almost everyone else was fit and capable. As much as possible at least, the production was slated to be 10 weeks, but between a fixed $30 million budget and having to pay a lot for Raul Julia and especially JCVD, they had to change the plans for fight training. Choreographer Benny The Jet Urqiduez would have to work with them during breaks between scenes, and the fighting was all pushed back to the end of production. Even worse, Urqiduez didn't know about the video game, so he was training everyone in a certain style, when the video game characters had their own fighting styles.

The most interesting part of this article, the rating. I'll just quote the article.

Quote:
All along, De Souza had been aiming for a PG-13 certificate, holding back on graphic violence in order to get those pre-teen Street Fighter fans into cinemas. “I was confident I’d shot a PG-13 film,” he says. “I had worked in TV for years and the shows I did – like Knight Rider – were considered family entertainment. I knew my way around ratings. But a week before we turned the movie in to the Motion Picture Association of America, there had been a school shooting. They gave it an R rating.

“I said: ‘Listen, we’ll just have to cut back.’ So we took out any places where you saw blood, we submitted it again and it was still an R. Now we started to take out some of the shots where impact was shown. I’m cutting away, cutting it back, back, back, and finally we hand it in – they give it a G rating. That would have been the kiss of death – no teenager wants to see a G movie! So I had Jean-Claude come in for one day and I added a line: ‘Four years of ROTC for this shit.’ That got us back up to PG-13.”

I forgot about how the movie's fighting constantly cut away at impact, similar to Power Rangers, but whereas Power Rangers can allow blows to the body, for Street Fighter, even those had cut-aways.

Anyways, I love that movie, it took a couple years and a few viewings to turn around on it as a so bad it's good film, originally I thought it was just okay. Now it's a blast for me to watch, but I still love Mortal Kombat more, that's the best video game movie adaptation. That's a good and bad thing, to me it's very entertaining, that's the good, more faithful to the source material than Street Fighter (which wasn't made seriously, for all intents and purposes). It's also a bad thing because it really shows how much of a shit show video game movies are, and not just because of Uwe Boll. Next year is the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter, I'll definitely watch it then, maybe before that as well, if I make the time.
