There used to be an antique shop in Maidstone run by a Chinese woman where she'd sell Mags on Behalf of punters. Now gone I think. However, there are still a few markets around where the 'bookstalls' sells back issues of Jazz Mags, along with all the other monthlys...

Coventry had a belter that sold junk (Antiques to upmarket punters) and he had a wealth of magazines, usually Escort, Knave and Fiesta, but when he got to recognise your face, he'd get some of his other stronger titles from out the back (Playbirds, Whitehouse and Lovebirds), and when you'd spent a few quid, he'd throw in a genuine 'under the counter' Private (Hardcore) magazine, as he wasn't allowed to sell these being unlicensed to sell porn, so he'd throw them in free as he'd made his money on the jazz magazines.
Again, as with the other aforementioned shops here, he's closed up and the shop is still empty and boarded up
My big regret was not snapping up a stash of Electric Blue Betamax videos, about 15 titles for a paltry tenner!

There are still at least two in Manchester, one near Victoria station, the other not far from Piccadilly. I was there just a few months ago.

Is the Popular Book Centre about half a mile from Victoria in London still going?

I seem to remember a second-hand bookstall in Shepherd's Bush market in West London (that weird and wonderful fleamarket that runs the length of railway viaduct of Shephedr's Bush Metroplitan line station - quite near BBC TV Centre, in fact).
It was operating in the early '90s, and as I recall it had a good stock of Whitehouse, Playbirds, Lovebirds etc from the 70s and 80s (a Les Dawson 'lech face' is being pulled here).
Not having been to that part of the world for years, I wonder if its still going?

We used to have them here in the States too. Now everything has to be in a sealed wrapper.

There used to be one in Luton, Marsh Road I think not far from the footbal ground. It was in a bit of an arcade downstairs from a snooker club run by West Indian guys - you could smell the ganja from the Street. The old boy who ran it would let you recycle your mags and give a discount for bulk purchases- ten or more. You just dont get these places anymore or are we just not looking?

Hang in there, Pawnking! I posted just one pic for the first time the other day - and got thanked 12 times! It is quite humbling to be appreciated, when there is such a wealth of rich stuff already on here! You can hack it, too, I'm sure!

I used to visit a bookshop in Eastbourne, where exchanging last week's purchase was a way of life. Razzles, Escorts, Fiestas etc all made their way to my home, smuggled indoors, ready for when the Mrs was out, so I could have that special wank! Sometimes couldn't wait and did it on the train home! It was always a bit offputting when you detected the spunk stains from a previous reader, though....!

Its been a long time since I was last in Manchester, but back then they had maybe 8-12 of those places. Great place to find the old editions. I think there were only about 1-2 in Birmingham.

Thumbs up Shop in Sheffield...

There's a belting little shop in Sheffield called "Tilleys", it's right next to United's football ground on Bramall Lane. From the outside it looks like any other run-down terraced shop, but inside it's an emporium. I plucked up the courage to make a pilgrimage in search of some original copies of Mayfair. The guy who runs the place was really helpful and he certainly knew his stock. He used to run a mail order website, but this doesn't seem to exist any more because they run a legit site under the same name covering all types of magazine (but no top shelf stuff?). Anyway the old shop is still open so I'm told.
