I'm just wondering has anybody used this web page to convert a pdf file?

I stumbled across it somehow but I'm a little reluctant to try it because you have to use the browse button to find the file on your computer.
I assume this means that you are allowing the web page to access your Pc and that could allow it to install something nasty.

It offers 3 levels of quality, 75dpi, 150dpi and 300dpi.

Gotopdf2jpg.net, which offers a free service to convert small PDFs to JPEGs (don't sign up for the e-mail notification service).

I forgot that the browse function is exactly the same as the image hosts.

I have some pdf's to convert so I'll give it a go later on the 300dpi setting and see how they come out.

Adobe Reader X will convert pdf's to several different format types.
I haven't needed to convert anything yet so I can't tell you how well it works.
I understand your reluctance to using a web site so, you may want to download it and give it a try.

imho you can't compare this cause with imagebam / imagevenue you already know that you are going to share a file to the internet.

in contrary, with a converting funktion like pdf2jpg usually people don't agree that the converted content gets shared.

don't get me wrong - i don't say this website will share your content without your agreement, but honestly "information" is the driving force of todays internet business and i wouldn't have any trust in any company that takes care on "private data" through a website.

so, using this website to convert your pdf's of pornmagazines there isn't much to take care of, but i recommend strongly to not convert any pdf document which includes private data (f.e. contracts or personal data sheets).

I gave the web page a go today and converted a pdf. I used the 300dpi setting and the results can be seen here:

To my mind it's not that great, but then I suppose the finish quality depends on how good the original pdf was.

I certainly don't see any real reason to continue using this service. The small program ( aostsoft pdf to jpg converter ) that I have used for previous posts does just as good a job, if not better.

I think these sites, like video conversion sites are for the completely computer unsavvy people, you can usually do the job better on your own, if you take the time to learn how to use the tools available.

I found this program a couple of weeks ago...

'AdvancedPDFUtilitiesFree' 7Mb

I've only used it once but it was easy to use and did a good job....and it really is free.

You can download it at www.pdfcore.com

Better than trusting your PC to an unknown website IMHO, and once downloaded you always have it to hand.

I visited www.pdfcore.com & http://pdf2jpg.net and my Kaspersky Antivirus didn't blocked it. So they didn't think, those sites are doing something bad.

...have you been hiding under a rock to miss all the web development evolution?

Of course privacy protection was an obvious and important factor when the people from the W3C and browser programmers introduced this file selection/upload function. Websites don't have access to any other files, except the ones you are uploading. They can't even find out the folder name from your hard drive if I remember right.
