Your suspicions would be correct, of course. Most guys are more timid then they'd purport to be, even the more loud-mouthed ones.

Similarly, some of the most beautiful women out there aren't necessarily the most unapproachable - both Mrs Sharky and my two of my exes are right up there on the looks scale, but didn't have the string of ex-boyfriends and admirers - probably because they scared them off. This actually surprised me a little, but then it slowly began to make sense - if the reality was that most of us guys stepped back because we thought a certain woman was out of our league, it stands to reason that these women would probably end up less "popular" than more ordinary-looking girls with whom we might have felt we stood a chance.

Alternatively, they'd be with a guy whose self-confidence was solely based around his having money to impress - which is bound to fail eventually as money does not buy a personality.

By the time I was in my mid-twenties I had finally concluded that women were not these scary creatures of myth and legend - you just needed to talk to them like normal human beings.

E is a friend who became a close friend about the time when I became legal drinking age. We'd run into each other at bars and nightclubs, the kind of chic who could hang around the bar and even get involved in drinking competitions

She's the kind of person who could easily brighten up a dull atmosphere.

E happened too live close too my place and we'd often share a cab home on Saturday nights, have a talk and then part company.

When I was about 22, she's slightly older, we went camping over an Easter long weekend, whilst there it was raining and her sleeping bag got saturated and being the gentleman I am , I offered her mine and I'd sleep in the car. She said "no way, It's a double, either we both get in or I'm throwing it out of the tent". So in we went, I didn't know it was going too happen, but we started kissing and it went on for , hell , I don't know but it seemed hours.

We kissed a few times over the next few weeks,
I thought about taking things a little further and asking her out on a proper date and so on. I didn't, I for some reason just didn't want too ruin a good friendship we already had.

I did make that mistake with another friend, so I guess I made the right decision with E. But from time too time I do wonder, Why didn't ya...........maybe I was just too chicken shit, don't really know.

We're still good mates too this day.

Back in grad school I was preparing for final exams and was constantly thinking about getting past it all, so I never noticed that a girl in one of my classes had apparently taken a liking to me and kept thowing hints I was too distracted to notice. One weekend, with her roomate, she convinced my best pal to have us all four go out for pizza and drinks. We all spent a couple of hours together, I noticed that both girls were over-the-top flirty, but I was so focussed on exams that I called it a night, and spent the rest of the weekend studying. The following Monday I ran into my pal, who had an ear-to-ear shit-eating grin: the girls were so horny they took him back to their apartment and he spent the whole weekend in bed with BOTH of them. By the way, did I mention they were both gorgeous?
Needless, to say, I never had another chance like that: the girl never paid attention to me again (I suppose she was offended I hadn't taken her up on her overt flirting). It's been years and years, but every once in a while I recall it and kick myself over how clueless I was. (PS: I passed the exams just fine, but in retrospect, I suspect I would have been happier with the two-day shagfest... )

Im terrible at getting signals that women throw. Even the ones I recognize like flipping her hair and stuff. I usually think they're just shooing away a fly or something. I was at a wedding and a woman was flirting with me and I didn't even realize it. She overheard me talking about the pain in my heel and she interjected and started talking about hers. Like a dope instead of a smooth transition into laying down my rap, I kept talking about feet. I think cuz she was older than me and there were five of us standing there, I didn't think she was interested me personally. After she walked away, my buddy asked me why I didnt' "go for it". Even they saw it. Sheeesh!!

Which is why I'm single. There were two women in the mid-90's that I not only could have asked out, but should have.

I can talk to a woman about just about anything...with the exception of if she wants to go out with me.

i was a slow starter... believe it or not; considering my previous employment history most of you know about...!!! (stop laughing at the back!!)

anyhow; at aged about 19, and in my local pub; i was hoping to add to my very short sex tally by chatting up, then bedding one of the local bikes (easy rides for you not familiar with the term)...not the suzuki or yamaha type... and thought i had a good chance.... asking my mate, while the loose knickered young lady powdered her nose, he agreed i should go for it.... then decided to use the mens room too....

he returned before the loose lady, and sugested i might want to use the mens room myself.. something about the way he suggested it making me decide i should. as i was 'walking the python', i heard noises in one of the stalls; soon accompanied by the sounds of a certain loose knickered lady telling her stall partner to fuck her harder up her ass.......!!!

i think you can guess i never did get to consumate my desires for that young lady after that revelation; especially as i later found out it had been another of my so called mates that had been doing the deed with her in that stall...!!!

on the plus side, they got shacked up, had five... yes five kids..!!! over the next seven or eight years; and now live in utter squalor that i could only imagine, or so im told. lucky escape i reckon...???
