I can think of lots of things, don't marry the one you did, marry the one you wanted to, stick to your original career choice, emigrate when you get the chance etc., but the one that always keeps coming back:

When you are 19 and Bridget's hot 45 year old mum gets drunk and comes on to you at her daughter's (your girlfriend) 19th birthday party, cut out the crap about not wanting to cheat on her daughter and just do it, it's the only chance you will get.
