I went about for a month and a half in the Merc with a 2011 tax disc - never even got looked at by the rozzers - my son took it to nip along the road for fags and got his collar felt - how I laughed when he told me.

You're all heart fleets. My old man tells this apocryphal yarn (imo) about how in the 60s people put a guinness label on the wind screen instead of a tax disc. Back then you could buy red hand guinness and our tax discs had a red hand in them.

Not apocryphal at all BB. I can remember several members of the travelling community having them in the 70's. Never managed to get one for me though.

Yeah, I remember the 70s unfortunately. Nobody worried about tax, seat belts or drinking and driving.
