And can make a any deal they like that's legal. (A court will decide on whether it breaches the Good Friday Agreement) Doesn't mean that it shouldn't be criticised due to it's possible consequences. I don't actually blame the DUP crackpots (they were raised that way), I am critical of the short-sighted judgement of the Tory 'Gov't' for making a deal with them and their blatant hypocrisy of criticising the future possible 'coalition of chaos' and attacks on Jeremy Corbyn for previously just talking to Sin Fein when he was not even part of any Gov't. I'm not the only one, even progressive Tories like Heidi Allen MP seem even more angry me about it than me. I think many Tory women and Gay Tories also feel the same. DUP MP's actually have far more rights and powers than English MPs. English MPs can't vote on devolved issues like Health and Education in NI. But DUP MP's can vote on these issues in England. A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to mow down a crowd of people outside a Paris mosque this evening.
Police said the man's motives were unclear, and that he had not succeeded in driving into the crowd because of barriers placed in front of the mosque. No injuries were reported by police at the scene. According to Le Parisien newspaper, the man said he had wanted to avenge attacks linked to Daesh that have killed dozens in Paris over the past years. Of course it's the done thing these days to shout down and vilify anyone who holds a different view to their own. Many of the DUP's views are what used to be the norm and may be again. Demonising people who hold views that are not currently in vogue is just as bad as demonising people in the past who held views that are now accepted as the norm.

Now we are seeing their power amplified to an unrepresentative level - because of the Con/DUP pact - and it is all the more important to ensure that they are held to account for views that most now find obnoxious. |

It's the Orange Walk in Glasgow on Saturday - you should get the train up and tell these DUP supporting "crackpots" just what you think of them.
Here's a guy doing just that !! Last edited by otokonomidori; June 29th, 2017 at 11:44 PM.. |

I recall a VEF member warned recently that with the populist mood in the UK at present, we could find ourselves one day with a government that would make UKIP look like radical lefties (sorry I forgot the thread).
Watching the antics of the Tories and Labour on the news today, I'm thinking that day is looking more likely...

Rumours are circulating which seem to suggest that the Fire Service found a very large number of bodies/remains on the upper floors of Grenfell Tower that are clearly not residents. Perhaps this explains several police requests for help with identification by survivors and promises not to involve them in immigration issues?
There is actually quite a bit about a suggested cover-up of the death count already on the Internet. I really don't know what to make of it, but I wouldn't be surprised to find there was some truth to the suggestions. |
