Free scanning service

Hi!

I would like to offer a 100% free scanning service of slides, negatives (color and b/w)

I have been running a Fuji print lab for 10 years and have quite a bit of experience when it comes to digitizing old stuff from all sorts of sources.

I was also the founder of the SportyONE model index - which was online from 2001 to 2009. While running SportyONE I had the pleasure of meeting several of the greatest content producers back then. Especially visiting Suze Randall, J. Stephen Hicks and also Hank Londoner was something I will never forget. (Hank got a shipping container full of slides/shoots that are still not scanned)

I will do the scanning on a Nikon Coolscan LS 9000 ED - with the highest possible resolution.(These scanners are rare and among the best ever produced) Dust cleaning will be done by software on everything but black/white negatives. Files will be made available to the owner, either online or on Blue-Ray disc.

Fileformat will be .NEF (Raw digital negative) and .JPG

For obvious reasons I will do NO color correction, but the NEF files can be open in Adobe Camera Raw, and be adjusted just like any digital raw file)

My motivation for doing this is more on the nostalgic side. The 80’s and 90’s had so many great models and photographers. Its killing me to know that so much great stuff will never be digitized due to high costs and also lack of services who offer scanning from old media. If I can scan a fraction of it, I will be my honor more than a hazzle.

For original content to be returned, I would require shipping costs to be paid in advance. Other than that, this is 100% free.

Note: I will only scan from professional agencies/photographers and photos of somewhat mainstream models. The idea is to bring some of these pictures back to the market, even if the pictures are old and outdated by todays standards.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. If you have several thousand slides, I will still do it for free - it will just take longer.
