Tables

Will the old tables ever be back? I mean the tables which were created before major problems occured on VEF recently (at the end of April this year).

Instead of tables there's still the message "No code has to be inserted here". I know that I can create new tables and re-activate old tables by editing each post but I have too many posts with tables so this is no option for me. I mean especially this thread.

That thread looks normal too me which is why it's been left for so long.

Tables have been reinstated but unfortunately the only way to repair the old posts is to click edit and then save. Send us Pm's of the affected posts and we'll help to get them sorted. I've done your projects thread so that should be OK now.

I just fear if the same problems happen again, the tables will be lost again and the same procedure (restore them by hand) is needed.

zplonk contacted me about a table he was having trouble editing - I suggested he contact an administrator. He seems to have settled for reposting his table here, but I'm left puzzling over why, if I quote that post, it comes up completely empty, whereas if I quote this other post with a table in, it seems normal. Why the difference, and also, why do I see nothing at all of the first post - if there's a problem with tables, why do I not see the ordinary text at the start of it?

There seems to be an issue when quoting actually.

It´s mainly when your settings are "WYSIWYG" (what you see is what you get), which is the default setting.

Quoting own or other members´ posts leave a blank field.

What is even worse, the same problem occurs when you try to edit your own post. The content is not visible then.

If you change your settings from WYSIWYG to the 2 lesser comfortable options by which you see text only, then it works normally.

Perhaps that´s why the table-operations don´t work as they should at the moment.

Addition:

Strangely, quoting seems to work right now (whereas it did not some hours ago).

However, editing your own posts brings you a blank, empty field. (WYSIWG-setting)

Hence, I´ve needed to make this additional post.

So it looks as if the problem isn't to do with tables at all - I've got the wrong thread. But curiously, my experience has been the opposite. I can edit my own post fine, but if I try and quote your post I get a blank - and this is true in whichever editor mode (I'd already tried changing mode with zplonk's post).
