Reusing imagehoster links in funnies and discussion sections?

A similar question as asked before (but i decided to post separately to avoid confusion):

The rules say "copying and reposting someone else's post(s)/upload(s)" is not allowed. Of course, across the image threads.

But what's about the funnies and discussion sections? For example one of the "xyz of the hour" "games". Is it allowed there to reuse an imagehoster link (giving thanks to the uploader!) found in an image thread? Or must i download the image and reupload it to (another) imagehost to get "my own" link (and waste space on hosters servers)?


Sorry if this question has been asked before, i have looked around, but i found nothing (maybe because my limited english knowledge ). I'm asking, because i want to avoid trouble.
