The current complex issue with Intel chips made in the past decade

Kernel-memory-leaking Intel processor design flaw forces Linux, Windows redesign
Speed hits loom, other OSes need fixes

But

That's the actual quote I got, 1 for the top of the range iMac, the other the base iMac Pro ..... Mrs went nuts at me

Might be time to upgrade the wife

Expensive up front costs remind me of solar electricity

Over time you end up with a PC that will be alive for decades
because the unqualified user cant screw it up

No can do, she knows about this place sort of likes it's my way of keeping out of trouble, so umm, this model female will do me fine

Gonna wait a short while before that monster of a machine makes it into this house, I gotta justify it's cost and also see it's short term history and reviews then plus where Apple go with it.

But I want one now

I could make subtle suggestion to make her work full time instead of part time

I just upgraded to a 27 inch 2015 iMac Core i5 3.3 GHz and upgraded the memory to 24 GB with chips from OWC last year. Bought it online from Apple from the refurbished products section of the online store. Same warranty as a brand new machine. I have the 2 TB Fusion drive internally and an OWC Elite PRO Duo https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MED3FR0GB/ configured as a JBOD with another 14 TB and a stand-alone 4 TB Media drive.
