Default If the Presidential election was reheld today, would you still vote for Trump?

Fellow Americans, just curious.
For those of you who voted for Trump in 2016, would you vote for him again if election was reheld?

I did not vote - and for good reason because I felt both Presidential candidates had too many flaws. Trump won the election and have no problem with that. But I continue to be astounded by Trump's bizarre antics. Late night social media outbursts, for that matter using social media as a primary communication tool, the continued and ongoing firings of staff and other officials, the pardoning of Arizona Sheriff Arpaio, and all the while blaming others for his troubles (particularly the media, TV networks, and reporters).

We have never seen this kind of behavior from a President. And one could argue he is making a mockery of the position. He now has the distinction of having the lowest approval rating - EVER - for a U.S. President.

So - would you vote for him again?

I'm British so I don't really understand that much about US politics.
But the thing is.
The US electorate knew exactly who they were voting for.
Credit to our USA members, when it comes to politics, they are engaged and miles ahead of us UK idiots who just aren't passionately interested in what our MP's aren't doing.

For some reason Trump ticks enough boxes to make many folks want to vote for him.

jpilson21?
You didn't vote?
That suggests that you're actually quite ok with what Trump is doing and are a supporter of "The Donald".

If you don't vote, you can't praise/criticise/not care, whatever.
You aren't engaged.
Vote next time, stretch those Democracy muscles

Jpilson "So - would you vote for him again?"
Better - So - would you vote this time to keep him out?

I do feel a lot of commiseration with US members. The choice of candidates in November 2016 was dire. Mrs Clinton labelled Mr Trump's supporters as "deplorables"; but in fact the true deplorables were herself and Mr Trump. If I were a US citizen I would feel constrained to vote, but would not have any positive reason to vote for either one of these, and would probably vote for the Green as the most inoffensive of the choices on offer.

But for the good of democracy people must be offered something better than this.

Would you have voted if for example Bernie Sanders had won the first round for the Democrats?

If a re-election happened it wouldn't necessarily have been the same 2 candidates to chose from.

I will answer it quite simply. Given the same choice I was given last November, Yes.

I, and I think most people who voted for Trump, voted as much against Hillary Clinton as for Trump. Clinton being elected would've been rewarding her, and by extension her husband, for what is decades of corruption and crime going all the way back to their days in Arkansas. The list of things they have done, that other people would've been and have been prosecuted for, is so long you can't remember them all. Now if Sanders had won the Democratic nomination I would've voted for him even though I disagree with most of his politics. As politicians go, he is one of the most honest ones I've ever seen in my lifetime, and doesn't change his positions by what the latest polls say.

Much was made about Hillary Clinton's "corruption and crime" but very little about the corruption and crime that Trump was/is involved in. And when it was mentioned, it was put down as "fake news."

Those who opposed Mrs. Clinton feared what she might do, most of which was complete paranoid fantasy. Had she been elected president, our standing in the world would not be diminished, Twitter storms from the White House would not have happened and so many other gaffes, hyperbole and outright lies would not exist.

I'm not going to argue that Mrs. Clinton is perfect, far from it. But she would have brought competence and professionalism to the job that Trump is incapable of showing.

For the record, I cast my ballot for Mrs. Clinton and would do so again.

The Greens in the US have a terrible reputation as simply cashing in on the name, without doing anything to help the environment. In 2000 they put up a former consumer advocate to help the Republican (US version of Conservatives) candidate George W. Bush, and defeat the most pro-environmental candidate in the US ever, Albert Gore. Ever since then, anyone I know of a liberal bent refuses to have anything to do with them. In this country, the word "green" is tarnished forever.

We have no idea who the opponent will be, as the next election will be on November 3, 2020.
