Wouldn't an all-knowing god have forseen the fall of man, and couldn't he have done something to prevent it? After all, he is all-powerful too, isn't he? Yet, god stood by and acted all angry when it happened. What's he got to complain about?

The bible... the most illogical story ever told Got to admit, I love reading it.

Then, the Mosaic covenant requred them to eat the flesh of the animal for the forgiveness of sins.

When Jesus came along, he put himself on the cross. He was, in a sense, just another Old Testament sacrifice. But this sacrifice was unique: Jesus was playing the role of the high priest (sacrificer) and the lamb at the same time. Additionally, both roles were perfect without sin.

By having a perfect sacrifice, it is now eternal. Jesus told us to eat his flesh, or the Eucharist. Since the eternal sacrifice is complete, the bread presents Christ’s original death once more in an unbloody manner. As were the Jews, we are called to eat the flesh for the remission of sins. Additionally, since the blood is pure and without stain, we are permitted to drink it. This is the new and everlasting covenant.

Also, if there was a perfect priest and a perfect lamb who had undergone a sacrificial ceremony, Christ would not have been needed. However, fallen human nature and the stain of sin prevents man from being perfect - thus, God saved us.
What that boils down to is that the God of infinite love and compassion insisted that His only Son die a hideous death to satisfy a rule that He Himself created.

I quoted this before but got shut down by a moderator because I apparently was demeaning and insulting to another members opinion. So here I try again.

That text absolutely makes no sense to me.

Is that atleast ok, moderator?

Finally , a member brave enough to admit he`s been in prison for the last thirteen years
Which was darn unlucky.
Considering you only originally went in as a visitor I understand

Because you're trying to apply logic to faith. Faith does not work like that, faith is about belief. And that's fine, you don't believe, but is that a reason to put down anyone that does?

A joke -

Q: How do you tell a person is an Atheist?
A: Don't worry, 3 minutes after meeting them they'll tell you themselves.

Dave (an agnostic)
