Microsoft is currently working on this.

There is a simple work-around:
- you change your system date to before december 3d (date < 03/12/2017) simply, so you can download the last update for Windows 7.
1) How can you change the system date?

2) Can't you just download the updates manually and then install them or do you need the wonky file to help install them?

To change the system date it is easy.
You simply go to the System Panel.

If you hadn't changed your system date you will not be able to download the updates because Microsoft based its controls to allow you to download on the date of one file.
If this date is equal or superior to 3/12/2017 (or 12/3/2017 depending on your system date format) you will not be allowed.

Default About Meltdown and Spectre weaknesses

Kernel-memory-leaking Intel processor design flaw forces Linux, Windows redesign

Every computer relying on an Intel x-86 processor is concerned (at least if less than 10 years old).

But also the machines with an AMD processor are concerned.
So that means users of Windows, Linux and Apple machines.

The flaw is related to the kernel memory system.
To make the processors quicker features were added which consists in anticipating the next instructions.

This results in having a rededesign of Windows, Linux, Apple Os (for computers) and Apple iOs (for mobiles).

Windows is preparing a major update.

Default Apple replace iPhones 6 batteries

Following the scandal about the artificial getting old of the iPhone 6, apple reacted by saying it was for protection.

A replacement of a iPhone 6 batterie costed at least 95 €.

So Apple is making an effort: iPhone 6 batteries when proven deficient by Apple's teams can be changed for 29 €.
But this must be done in an Apple Center.

Default The situation after the last correctives

Microsoft hurried to upload correctives to windows 10.

I must say it is far from a success on a technical side.
Windows 10 has become more sluggish than ever.
I think everybody is remarking a loss of speed going from 9% to 15% depending of what is used.
Now it is more than a loss of parameters.

What's more, the applications react differently from what they were written for.

For example when there is a loop, this is often duplicated.
Bugs appear when there was not before the last upgrade.

A good solution would have been given by INTEL and AMD rather than Microsoft.
At least with INTEL it would be more serious.
Alas there is nothing on offer from this side.
I think this will take time for INTEL and AMD, that is if they release a correction.
Upgrading chips may be tricky both for the founders and for the users.
And every application may need an upgrade when it is done.

I regret to say the only reaction we had was from Microsoft.
I hope we will soon have a reaction from INTEL, but for them the job is not simple.

Big Grin Something new coming from INTEL

There is something new coming from INTEL.

At first they had told it was the architectures Broadwell and Haswell that were compromised and they released correctives.

Now they have added architectures Ivy Bridge, Sandy Bridge, SkyLake and KabyLake to the compromised list and they have released new correctives.

The problem is these correctives are provoking unwanted reboots.

So INTEL has just announced they recommend stopping using these correctives.

That also means Microsoft hurried for nothing.

The result of recent events and announcements is as expected:
it is becoming to turn into chaos.

The last update for Windows 10 is resulting in a chaotic OS, with bugs where there was none.

When you start your machine pay attention :
I had a new bug since the start, not very important, but annoying.

And when I create a new application, it is an ordeal.
If this goes on I will reverse to the previous update.
