HMS Legion 1/700
I also note that the Flyhawk HMS Legion has been released for sale - This link goes to a great review from Model Warships.com website forum ( a very trusted and reliable site - I am also a member there ) http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews...gionFH1103.htm There you can view all the pictures of the kit parts and instructions - It is easily the best RN Destroyer in 1/700 Scale - I think this is the first 1/700 L-Class destroyer in plastic. I can find a White Ensign 1/350 HMS Laforey in resin and a couple of kits of HMS Lance in 1/350 and that’s about it. It appears the L-Class destroyers have not been well represented over the years. I can say the same for the M-Class too since they L and M Class destroyers are virtually identical. Also the J/K/N Class are the same , only in 1/350 Resin or 1/700 Plastic ( from Matchbox - but 40 years old ) . These would be an excellent choice for a Plastic Kit manufacturer as the Wartime O to Z Class Destroyers were virtually identical , except for single 4.7 inch guns instead of Twin 4.7 inch . |

1/350 Ark Royal
I got the Model Kit delivered today ( all safe ) and its an impressive and detailed modern injection scale kit , very large ( the Ark Royal Kit Box is twice as tall as the HMS Hood Box )
and the Hangar Superstructure and Hull are pretty huge - I am a big fan of the Ark Royal and she measures 696mm long . Last edited by 73north; October 10th, 2019 at 11:07 AM.. |

Trumpeter Display Base
it took ages - but I finally collected the completed article -
I handed over the Trumpeter Display Base and the 2 Silver ( or Nickel ) Display Pedestals - a couple of months ago - for having them fitted to the Trumpeter Black Plastic ' Dry Dock ' Display Stand with 2 Heavy Metal underside Base Supports ( to spread the load ) . So this is now ready for any Trumpeter Model in the Future |

Just to say the Trumpeter HMS Exeter in 1/350 scale
will be available in 62 days on 1st November 2018 for £ 74.99 - Only the second injected plastic model of any of the Royal Navy WW2 Cruisers ! Also sad news , decided to abandon the attempt to build the Tamiya Prince of Wales in 1/350 scale with the Pontos Set , due to private life and personal hassle . I have sold it , and in the future , I will buy the new tool Flyhawk Prince of Wales 1/350 Model Kit , whenever it is released ( the Tamiya one dates back to 1985 ) I will concentrate on keeping sane for the next month and if I get on an even keel will get the Ark Royal built , once I buy the Very-Fire Super-Detail upgrade set for the Ark Royal Model which I bought , which should cheer me up . |

I'm sorry to hear that things are not to well for you at the moment. I always visit this thread for the enthusiasm and dedication that you bring to the subject. Particularly as I remember that when I got a new kit as a child I would immediately begin assembly without worrying about painting the parts beforehand.
I hope things improve soon for you and look foreward to seeing your future posts. best wishes |

I haven't watched the entire episode yet.
Code:
https://www.channel4.com/programmes/battle-of-britain-model-squadron/episode-guide Haven't found the part that tells how they are able to shoot each other down. Did saw the part that there is a figurine pilot in the cockpit with a pin size camera in the rotating head and the guy on the ground controlling the model airplane with the RC is wearing a virtual headset: he can see everything the camera is picking up and when he moves his head left and right and up and down, the figurine pilot rotating head moves at the same time. |
