The problem is scientifically modifying plants so they can't reproduce naturally, and patenting the genetic code so that seeds can't be sold without a license. No one knows what this money-making crap means for us. What we do know is that it's nothing to do with nature or anything we've done in the past. That's why many of us don't want to be polluted by it
Before, we used natural means of crossing plants, and it worked. Now their motivations and methods are different. Do you get it? |

That said, The Sydney Fish Market http://www.sydneyfishmarket.com.au/home When my younger brother lived there for some 4 years every time we went for a visit he'd buy seafood from there, never once I recall having anything close to bad from there ... just seeing the market is great also. Crabs, Shellfish and Bugs I really like, but I do have a soft spot for Moreton Bay Bugs

Come to Florida instead:
Lions, no tigers (except at the zoo), but bears -- oh, my! Pythons (escaped pets that now lay 200 eggs per year) and 'gators and crocs -- they're sly! Sharks in the ocean, jellyfish in the seas: Melaleuca from Australia that will make you sneeze! Diamondback rattlers with venom to end you -- Florida is a more interesting venue. It's still the best place a doctor could send you: No smog, and the Democrats all on the menu! |

I watched a movie recently set in Canberra or Geelong (as they are both the same to my American eyes) and they showed a lot of drug dealers all over the town , and don't ask me what movie since it was an Australian export it was easily forgettable

But in the EU, and possibly elsewhere, they are not allowed, because they don't know if the modifications are harmful. Something about long-term studies being needed, if I understood right. I do trust the EU on food quality & standards, but it's also convenient for protecting markets -- I didn't miss that |

Here's the last real huge one,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Yasi They happen every year here, They are more often and powerful in the Atlantic but the ones down here can be just as bad, Look up Cyclone Tracy that destroyed Darwin at Christmas 1974

Fiction
Yeah, there are scumbag drug dealers here, nothing like what's happened in the States though. And if palo can say there are no Gays in Russia, then I can say There are no drug addicts in Geelong, unless they are in the suburbs of Whittington, Moolap, Corio, North Shore, Newcomb or Norlane and maybe Belmont.
