I've had 3 health issues of late, all at the same time

That don't annoy me, kind of semi expected now that I'm 50.

One of those issues had me hospitalised for several nights including surgery, first ever stay in hospital .... anyway, I'm pretty much house bound for the rest of the month so can't play golf at all , that's annoying, but what's really bugging me is this.

To help kill the time I've been playing games on the computer, namely casino games .... played this most of the day

What's annoying

Why can I be up $ 2 million here when I started with only 1 Grand when in real life that won't ever happen

Mate, I'll gamble for real in a casino, I'll play pretend games on a computer, I'll have fun with mates making bets ..... But internet gambling, I pity nobody who takes part in that

Internet gambling is a mug's game. The only real gambling I do is when I have a day out at the races. £10 on an outsider in every race. Over the years I've had a few big wins, the biggest was £450.

The biggest gamble at the moment is Bitcoin and that's going to go one of two ways! I first heard about it in around 2010. I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now but I envy anyone who got into it when one cost literally a few cents and have held onto them. Having said that, if I had of bought some, I'd have probably have bailed out when I'd doubled my investment.

I have been doing poker and sports betting online for years. Not a large amount but I am up about 20% of my initial input.
I agree though that there are a lot of people without the self control to manage the games kind of like my drinking but you can't win them all huh??

Do you mean you lost 80% of what you put into it? Or did you win a profit of 20% ?

Just wondering (not judging), do you consider it a hobby? or rather a high-risk high-reward investment?

I meant I am up a "profit" of 20%. However I would not call it a real profit yet as I have never made a withdrawal.

I do it to pass some time and to make rooting for teams a little more interesting.

I can see where people do get entrapped by it and just can't stop though. You know the next bet, hand, slot pull will be the big one.
We have a lot of Indian casinos, excuse me First American casinos here and I like to say "they are taking America back one nickel at a time".
I think it is funny and don't mean it in any way as racist so the PCers can back off.

Sports betting are unpredictable.
Too many referees mistakes, chaotic events and now... unfair games runned by the mafias.
That's probably why the owner of Bet365 is one of the richest women of UK.
