The BBC are commissioning another (apparently 3 part) remake of War of the Worlds. I'm guessing that it will be set in an alternative Edwardian timeline. However, I can't see how they hope to compete with Spielberg, who spent serious money on the 2005 Tom Cruise film.

I fear this may end up as a sort of Dr Who meets the Tripods type of thing with loads of CG.

Still, it might be worth a watch.

Zach Snyder's daughter comitted suicide in March he attempted to burn through the grief with work but has chosen to step away from Justice League & be with family.
Avengers 1-2 director Joss Whedon (who will be directing a Batgirl movie for the dceu) will film several additional scenes Zach wanted to add to the film which is pretty much finished.
Regardless of what we may feel about Mos or Bvs (I personally love Mos & like Bvs alot), may the family find any possible amount of peace.

And the chances are Nul. The version of Day of the Triffids a few years back stunk to high heaven. Coker (Eddie Izzard) taking over 10 Downing St and creating a new fascistic government.
War of the Worlds bbc 2017 version. Idris Elba as the hero. The soldier will be a kickass female. How can we get an Asian as a major star. Ogilvy is a gay professor. Oh, and let's put some Martians in it as well.
