I agree, the first series were the most explicit with some of the battle and torture scenes being on the limit of what might be deemed too graphic and Claire doesn't get her kit off as much in the later series ( shame )

the only things that really detract from my overall love of the show is the quite unbelievable scenes in the later shows, IE' the storm scene where the boat is being broken apart by the massive storm and Claire gets knocked overboard, Jamie then swims down to her, untangles her from the wreckage and spends time kissing her before dragging her back to the surface where all is instantly calm and the storm of a few seconds before has gone completely

even so i cannot wait for series four

In Britain Death in Paradise (BBC1 9pm Thursdays) comes to the end of series seven next week but good news it has already been green-lit for series 8 next year...just another 11 months to wait then.

Holy crisp! McMafia finished Sunday night and that has been a hell of a series, taut, tense and good use of real country locations-Moscow, Prague, India etc.
Hard Sun finished Saturday and that been gripping too, although it might have a bit more sci-if thrown in. No spoilers here but watch both series if you can via BBC iplayer.

Counterpart E04. Each episode more Machiavellian, more well plotted than the last.

Just come to the end of the last ever episode of A Town Called Eureka! It was such a good series, different from the usual sci-if stuff, and some good acting. A good mixture of comedy, drama and real edge of the seat cliffhangers at times and a strange use of two story arcs that stretched over several episodes. I think it could have gone for another series.

It was originally produced as 'Eureka' for the American Syfy channel and appears to have been the victim of a regime change there.

Britannia. The story of the Roman conquest of Britain...well sort of. Mad Druids, scheming Celts, brutal Romans, episode one was pretty good.

I think it's probably time to have a thread with the title - "Seen anything bad on TV lately?"

I've just watched the latest BBC 1 Saturday night TV drama - "Troy, Fall of a City" made for the Corporation by Endemol Shine at enormous cost in South Africa. Just why they keep commissioning rubbish like this is a bit beyond me, but trust the good old Beeb to waste licence payers money at every opportunity on dull, generally PC material. This production is basically Robin Hood does Atlantis, with a very hot Helen (German actress Bella Dayne) who has nice tits. Unfortunately, that's about it. The acting leaves much to be desired and the whole thing suffers from stupid dialogue, with a predictable wooden feel to the storyline. Oh dear!

How does it compare with the excellent "Chelmsford 123" ?

I read somewhere or other that the production costs for Eureka and it's sister show Warehouse13 just got too high. W13 especially had great production values. It's just a shame the show played up the puerile antics of Pete Latimer over the Indiana Jones aspect.
