I think about 20 different types of rock are used in Stonehenge, and it's the bluestones which are thought to come from the Preseli Hills ... about 160 miles away. It's been suggested that these stones were found much nearer to the site, having been carried by the Irish Sea Glacier.

As with the Pyramids, I see no reason to think Stonehenge wasn't built using a great deal of ingenuity and manual labour. The problem is that we think we're really clever these days, and if we can't work out how to do something, we assume our ancestors couldn't! A typical example is the Greek trireme ... a warship with three banks of oars. For years "experts" said it wasn't feasible, the oars would clash, the oarsmen would get in each others' way etc. etc ... then someone sat down, engaged their brain, designed one ... and built it! Our ancestors were a lot smarter than we often imagine.

Were the giant skelton 'found' in India genuine, rather than the obvious fake it is, would we not have heard a lot more about it?

We have more then 150.000 members on this forum, is there anyone out there who can explain..?
Threre are at least a 100 different stories..
.
I saw a documentary once that suggested they were placed on rafts then navigated along the coast then inland via the river. I cant say which river exactly as I'm not overly familiar with the geography of the area. There are certainly more than enough credible explanations on how they were transported, we dont have to look to any supernatural nonsense to explain it.

Default Roswell, New Mexico 1947

While hoaxes deceived so many gullible types in the past there is no doubt in my mind that the events that occurred in 1947 cannot be disputed as much documentation exists to prove it as fact not fiction or speculation. I think one must be quite arrogant to assume that Earth is the only planet with living beings because no matter how sophisticated an alien life form's technology there's always the possibility of error. I must admit that I am rather pragmatic on issues involving this topic because most cases have been resolved with time including those who believe that Area 51 has crashed flying saucers! The image here is not from 1947 but is merely a rather accurate portrait based on extensive data on file.

You've got to admit that it would be a lot less impressive with a steam engine fitted!!!

Here's a short video giving a clear explanation as to exactly how this phenomena occurs:

I'm afraid there is plenty of evidence disputing that a UFO crashed at Roswell. The fact that nobody involved even bothered to mention it until 30 years after the event, discrepancies between "eyewitness" testimonies, errors involving timelines & dates, one of the main characters doesn't appear to have even existed (the nurse)... Even reading UFOlogist & Roswell proponent Stanton T Friedmans book Crash At Corona, The US Military Retrieval & Cover-Up Of A UFO requires some giant leaps of faith.

I agree that the sequence of events is murky & the US military giving 4 different explanations is a little odd. Jesse Marcel Jr had a good military career, seems credible at face value & it seems strange he should cloud it by with this story but the facts of an alien craft crashing at Roswell in 1947 just do not add up.

Is there some form of life out there? Probably (hopefully), yes. Has it been visiting Earth abducting humans & mutilating cattle, no!

Cool as alien visitation would be, the field of UFOlogy is no further forward than it was 70 years ago. What little "evidence" there is is always the same - just enough to be tantalising, never enough to show any hard proof.

Every VEF member is entitled to their personal view on any subject matter but I studied Roswell for a long time so my opinion differs greatly than many skeptics today. I simply don't have sufficient time due to the hectic holiday season to respond in further depth but perhaps after Christmas...
