They fixed the thumb issue. I post almost exclusively with someimage now. You can set it to display 150 pixels and maintain the aspect ratio.

Regarding imagebam, the problem appears to be database related and not due to banned images or server issues. I suppose we'll see if they manage to fix the problem. Fingers crossed. I would guess that about a third of the posts on VEF use imagebam including many of mine.

Certain members have in the past used the imgclick image host site. Not wishing to single anyone out but for example here. In the past that site was highly frustrating. Today, while trying to access some images of Minka Kokos from that post, I find it impossible to access the images. Having temporarily disabled adblock plus for the site (as it seemingly requires) there are a series of pop-under windows and yet the images never load.

Perhaps all those images are simple dead (despite the live thumbs), but the broader question to me is: should the imgclick image host site still be permitted for vef members, given that it is so frustrating to use?

From what I've seen on our site as well as others, I would say that imgclick is dead. Like most of the pay-per click hosts, it was shoddily run and relatively short lived. According to some of the stuff I've read, imgclick stopped payouts to uploaders a couple of months ago. Personally, I never thought that it should have been allowed on VEF in the first place. I understand some of the arguments, but my feeling is that if you want to get paid for material you share, go to another forum.

Hopefully, you've reported the dead posts so that they can be removed.

Edit: After being reviewed, it seems that some folks are able to access the images. It's weird, because I can't open them no matter which browser I use. It's not a matter of pop-ups or ad blockers. They're just dead. It seems that many of us are experiencing regional issues with various image hosts. I dunno.

OK, thanks for investigating, aphex1973. I've just tried again and the images in that particular post still seem dead. I then tried the first post in the same thread and at least some images from it on imgclick are still live. I haven't reported anything as yet because I wasn't sure what the scope/nature of the problem was, and my objective was more oriented towards the larger picture--i.e. suggesting a change of stance on that host rather than simply dealing with individual dead images, no matter how spotty/plentiful.

By the way: part of my former (& still present) annoyance with imgclick is that although it lists custom (non-random) filenames they're not actually applied to the files as one downloads them, i.e. one still has to manually rename the downloaded files.

All of the files opened for me with no problems. Was it a particular post you were having problems with or all of them?

I just opened up images from several posts on the page you linked to, and downloaded them successfully with Imagehost Grabber.

What browser are you using, have you tried a different one?

I use Firefox 46.0.1 + Addon Imagehost Grabber.

I have tried Internet Explorer, both failed.

No chance to download any pics from Pimpandhost.
