The 49rs were later discovered to have cheated the salary cap after their Super Bowl run by keeping a set of duplicate books. They were fined and lost draft choices

BTW a NFL assistant coach coach found that an Oakland Raiders game plan for that day had been mistakenly left behind in a common meeting room. He presented it to the Head Coach who promptly tossed it into the garbage can, saying "we do NOT cheat". That Head Coach? Don Shula. And the Dolphins lost that day.
By all reports, Tom Brady works incredibly hard. Henson had way more physical talent than Brady, but there were Michigan players who believed that the coaches were starting the wrong guy. Belichick took 3 years to turn the 3-13 team he inherited in Cleveland into a playoff team but saw the squad regress in the midst of the drama surrounding Art Modell moving the franchise to Baltimore. No other coach has matched his 11 wins there in 1994 in all the years since then.

The whole salary cap was started to stop Eddie D. from stockpiling players. There was another case of the other owners whining and changing the rules because one guy kept beating them. Baseball changed the rules to screw the small market teams in the draft after Billy Beane and the Atlanta Braves kept making the playoffs with much smaller revenue streams and payrolls.

The other coaches and owners used to hate and bitch about Red Auerbach. Red did engage in serious gamesmanship. The visitors locker room in the Boston Garden was miserable. But Red Auerbach signed Don Nelson after he had been cut by two teams and every other team in the league had priority to claim him. Nelson was in the rotation for 11 years and helped the Celtics win 5 titles. They whined about Auerbach and traded him Hall of Fame players like Bailey Howell for stiffs like Mel Counts.

It is impossible to cheat enough to overcome well coached superior talent. Pittsburgh and Baltimore are 2 well coached teams with strong front offices who also overcome NFL gravity. Belichick has to be great to have out performed them despite poor draft position exacerbated by the league taking away draft picks. Really, this whole "They only win because they cheat" is loser talk. If you really think that's why the Patriots are kicking your team's ass, get on your team to learn how to cheat and not get caught.

Don Shula was a great coach. If he had been as ruthlessly competitive as Al Davis, he probably would have won more super Bowls.

Belichick has won his division 8 years in a row, 14 times in 16 seasons, and is on the way to winning his division this year. He has won 5 Super Bowls and lost 2 during that run. Except for Brady, the entire roster has turned over several times. The entire structure of the league: divisional play, draft, free agency, salary cap, and the physical hazards players face, is designed to prevent a team from dominating more than a three or four years. Nobody else has come anywhere close to doing this. He is clearly the best coach and GM the NFL has ever seen and it is unlikely that his record will ever be matched.

I am old enough to have caught the end of the Yankees winning 14 pennants in 17 years. I saw the Boston Celtics run off 11 NBA titles in 13 years. To this day, I really hate seeing the Yankees win and love it when things go wrong for them. I couldn't hate the Celtics because Bill Russell came out of Oakland's McClymonds High School and the University of San Francisco.

I understand that y'all are sick to death of watching Belichick and Brady winning year after year. All I can say is that it will all end within the next few years. Then the Patriots will go back to sucking like they used to.

BTW, isn't it fun when the Cowboys miss the playoffs?
I completely agree with EVERY part of this!

Thank ya!

I haven't spent a bunch of time watching games this season, but the officiating I've seen just sucks ass.

I don't care if you call it tight or call it loose but call it the same for both teams. The games tat I've watched aren't consistent for both teams. It just seems like the officials are going to call it to try and make the game close. Close means more eyeballs. I hate to say it, but it seems like the fix is in. But only enough to make the game close.

Look. I wouldn't have a problem with the Patriots if...

1) The Rams (my favourite all-time football team) won the SB, or didn't lose it in such questionable manner.

2). The Seahawks weren't so stupid in sb49.

3). The Falcons weren't so stupid in sb51.

Edit:

4) If ultimatewarlord didn't go for them
